Patent number: 5488387Abstract: A frame thinning out system has been used as a driving method for a display device for creating a gradational display with several brightness levels on the screen of a liquid crystal display device and the like. This driving method creates a gradational display by setting a plurality of frame time periods, during which each of pixels on the screen of the display device are controlled for displaying an image, as one integration time period, and turning on pixels only for a number of specified frame time periods corresponding to a brightness level to be displayed, out of all frame time periods within the integration time period. In this driving method, all pixels of the display device are grouped into multiple groups, each of which is composed of a plurality of pixels contiguous to each other. The number of pixels to be turned on in each frame time period within one integration time period is selected corresponding to the specified gradation data within the same group.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1994Date of Patent: January 30, 1996Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroshi Maeda, Takuro Omori

All pixels of the display device are grouped into multiple groups composed of a plurality of pixels contiguous to each other. The number of pixels to be turned on in each frame time period is selected corresponding to the specified gradation data within the same group. Thus, the number of pixels to be turned on for one frame time period may be equal between subgroups in the scanning lines within the same group.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1992Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroshi Maeda, Takuro Omori

Patent number: 4873628Abstract: A computer includes a memory, a statement translating circuit, and a program executing device. The memory stores a first program with a first command. The statement translating circuit is provided for translating the first command into a second command in a second program. The memory stores the second program with the second command. the program executing device is responsive to the memory for performing the second program with the second command.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1988Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takuro Omori, Shigenobu Yanagiuchi

Patent number: 4748589Abstract: An electronic translator is characterized in that a control circuit is provided for providing a translation of a non-inflected form of a word upon entry of an inflected form of the word. In another preferred form of the invention, words are stored in a memory circuit in such a manner that a first memory contains address information referring to a second memory and corresponding to the first letter of each of a group of words. The second memory stores address information related to each of the second letter of the respective words. In a further preferred form of the invention, the memory comprises several memory circuits each of which stores a plurality of words belonging to a common level or rank. The plurality of words of a selected rank are displayed in turn and an operator may attempt to input words equivalent to the displayed words.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1980Date of Patent: May 31, 1988Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ikuo Kanou, Shigenobu Yanagiuchi, Takuro Omori

Patent number: 4642761Abstract: A computer connected to at least one peripheral includes a memory, a program control circuit, an internal keyboard and a signal input/output device. The memory stores a program. The program control circuit is provided for controlling the computer according to the program. The peripheral is an external memory, an external input device, or the like. The signal input/output device is provided for connecting the computer and the peripheral to communicate data. Serial bit data transfer through data lines is used to send command control signals from the computer to the peripheral and for transfer of data between the computer and the peripheral. Control signals are sent on a control line to control the transmittal and reception of the command control signals and the data. When an external keyboard is selected as a peripheral, the internal keyboard may be disabled.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1986Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigenobu Yanagiuchi, Takuro Omori

Patent number: 4541069Abstract: An electronic translator includes a memory for storing a plurality of words. The memory is characterized in that it stores the plurality of words in random order with an address code representing an address of the memory added to each of the words. The address denoted by the address code added to each of the words is the address of the next word in alphabetical sequence whereby the randomly words may be addressed in the alphabetical order.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1980Date of Patent: September 10, 1985Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ikuo Kanou, Shigenobu Yanagiuchi, Takuro Omori

Patent number: 4381551Abstract: An electronic translator is characterized in that similarity detection circuit is provided for detecting similarity between letters within a first word and those within a second word in the same language as the first word, with the object of locating a second word stored in memory having letters which are similar to the letters of the first word. In another form of the present invention, the first word is entered containing at least one Arabic numeral to obtain a translated word in a different language. For this purpose, the memory has a plurality of translated words containing the at least one Arabic numeral.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1980Date of Patent: April 26, 1983Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ikuo Kanou, Shigenobu Yanagiuchi, Takuro Omori
