  • Patent number: 5875369
Abstract: A lens-fitted photographic film unit has a main body which is provided with a film supply chamber and a film take-up chamber on opposite horizontal sides of an exposure chamber. A portion of the film unit including the exposure chamber and the film supply chamber is reduced in thickness. The front cover which is attached to the main body has a grip projection having the same shape as the film take-up chamber and a flat portion located in front of the exposure chamber and the film supply chamber. The flat portion is recessed with respect to the grip portion so as to reduce the thickness of most of the film unit. The grip projection makes it possible to hold the film unit with ease. The film unit is surrounded by an outer cover which exposes the grip projection.

  • Patent number: 5769226
Abstract: A first break line is formed at a front part of a paper box for storing a film cartridge. Second and third lines connected with the first break line are formed on a top part (lid). The second and third break lines incline toward both edges of the top part. Fourth and fifth break lines connected with the second and third break lines are formed along a ridge part toward both corners of the top part. When the paper box is opened, the first break line is broken to lift the top part, the second and third break lines are broken by the lifting action. Then, the fourth and fifth break lines are broken sequentially, so that the paper box is opened. Therefore, the paper box can be opened on the first attempt.

  • Patent number: 5709302
Abstract: A package for a film cartridge has a carton enclosing an inner holder which contains a sealed film product. The carton has a tab which is secured to a tab on the inner holder, so that both the inner holder and the carton are torn away at the same time along a tear line formed on the carton, when pulling the carton tab. In another embodiment, the inner holder has an upper and lower portion, and is enclosed within a central rectangular opening of a mount by two pieces of paperboard. There is a notch where the mount and the lower portion of the inner holder overlap, and a tear line is formed in connection with the notch on the mount, so that both the inner holder and the carton are torn away at the same time along the tear line.

  • Patent number: 5624033
Abstract: A package for a film cartridge comprises a paperboard carton and a wrapper. A main body of the wrapper is housed in a film cartridge housing part of the carton. A sealing part is held between two pieces of paperboard forming a hanging part. A tongue-shaped tab is formed at a sealing part in a direction in which the wrapper extends. The tab projects toward outside from an aperture which is formed at the hanging part. Tear lines 32, 32 are formed on a rear wall of the carton. When the tab is pulled in a tear-out direction, the film cartridge housing part is torn out along the tear lines, and the main body of the wrapper is also torn out at the same time.

  • Patent number: 5576793
Abstract: A lens-fitted photographic film unit has a film housing, which is preloaded with photographic film and provided with photograph-taking structure. A protuberant portion is formed in front of the film housing. A cardboard packaging covers the film housing. A four-sided portion of the packaging is curved to project outwardly by pressure molding, and fitted on the protuberant portion. In a preferred embodiment, a cassette is contained in the film housing with its axis vertical and is disposed near an end of the film housing, and contains the film after the film has been exposed. The protuberant portion and the four-sided portion are curved about the outside of the cassette, to be used as a grip. Two slits are formed in the packaging and along respective horizontal sides of the four-sided portion, in order partially to expose the protuberant portion. The film housing is black. On the packaging, the edges of the slits are black.

  • Patent number: 5381202
Abstract: A photographic film cassette has a cassette shell and a spool of film contained rotatably therein. The photographic film is completely contained in the cassette shell before use. The photographic film cassette is contained in a box-shaped transparent P case. The P case is then externally packaged. The outer is an opaque card arranged face to face with the passage mouth of the cassette and shrink wrap for retaining the P case on the card. In the improved cassette, the cassette shell is constituted of first and second shell halves respectively formed from resin. In manufacturing the cassette, indication representing general information is printed onto the first shell half. The spool with the photographic film is arranged between the shell halves. The shell halves are attached together while keeping the spool rotatable. Subsequently, the label, having indication representing information related to a particular type of the photographic film, is attached to the cassette.
