  • Patent number: 8826082
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention is an optical communication system including: a plurality of interface boards which transmit and receive optical signals to and from interface boards facing the plurality of interface boards; and a monitoring control device which monitors states of the plurality of interface boards. A first interface board of the plurality of interface boards includes: a replacement unit capable of monitoring the states of the plurality of interface boards on behalf of the monitoring control device and independently receiving supply of power; and a control unit configured to start the replacement unit in a case where a fault occurs in the monitoring control device and stop or halt the replacement unit in a case where there is no fault in the monitoring control device.

  • Patent number: 8460137
Abstract: A belt-drive CVT includes a pair of pulleys, each of which has a stationary pulley and a movable pulley that moves toward or away from the stationary pulley in an axial direction of the pulley, a belt that is wound around the pair of pulleys and a rotation state detecting device for detecting rotation of the pulley. The rotation state detecting device has a tone wheel that rotates integrally with the pulley and a sensor that faces the tone wheel. The tone wheel has a cylinder portion that extends along a moving direction of the movable pulley. The cylinder portion is provided with a plurality of detection portions which are arranged at regular intervals in a circumferential direction throughout an entire circumference of the cylinder portion and which extend along the moving direction of the movable pulley.

  • Patent number: 8391711
Abstract: Provided is an optical relay system (10) which is capable of suppressing wasteful power consumption of an entire system to a low level. The optical relay system (10) includes a plurality of relay devices (30) and a network control device (20). The network control device (20) causes an optical signal to be regenerated by a regenerative repeater (35) within the relay device (30) existing at an upstream of the relay device (30) reporting that the optical signal has deteriorated by a degree exceeding a predetermined level. Further, the network control device (20) causes the regenerative repeater (35) to stop regenerating the signal in a case where deterioration of the signal remains within an allowable range even when the regenerative repeater (35) stops regenerating the signal.

  • Publication number: 20110097077
Abstract: A redundant optical transmission system for transmitting a gigabit Ethernet signal is disclosed. The system includes network devices having the auto negotiation function and transponders having the auto negotiation function based on the Ethernet standard. Upon occurrence of a fault in the optical signal path, a line fault such as the link disconnection with a network device is detected and the corresponding information is transferred to the opposite station. The opposite station restarts the auto negotiation with the network device, thereby positively repairing the line disconnection between the network devices.
