  • Patent number: 6499351
Abstract: A film pressure sensor to be interposed between a cover of an automotive seating equipment and a seat cushion material thereof and used suitably for measuring pressure to be applied to the seating equipment. A temperature sensing area (25) for sensing the temperature of a pressure sensing area (23) is formed on an insulating film (21a or 21b) of the film pressure sensor (20) using a substance whose electrical resistance changes depending on the temperature. Errors in pressure measurement to be caused by change in the temperature can be reduced or removed by utilizing the temperature determined by the temperature sensing area (25).

  • Publication number: 20020019169
Abstract: This invention relates to a rotating connector comprising an inner cylinder 2 and an outer cylinder 3 combined together to permit the relative rotation in a concentric state, and a flat cable 1 spirally housed in an annular space 20 formed between the inner cylinder 2 and the outer cylinder 3, and connected at its inner end to the inner cylinder 2 while being connected at its outer end to the outer cylinder 3, wherein the flat cable 1 is composed of a plurality of flat-type conductors 10 placed in parallel arrangement and an insulating coat layer 11 placed over the flat-type conductors 10, and the insulating coat layer 11 is formed by coating the flat-type conductor 10 with a thermoplastic resin by means of direct extrusion.

  • Patent number: 6345839
Abstract: A seating sensor is provided on a seat back part and/or a seat cushion part of a seat in use for a vehicle such as an automobile, and calculates physical conditions, such as a height and weight of an occupant, to judge whether the subject on the seat is a human or an object. On the basis of the results of such calculation and judgement, the operation of an air bag is controlled. The seating sensor includes a sensing element which is variable in its electric resistance in response to the pressure variation, and the pressing force is detected on the basis of the variation of the electric resistance value.

  • Patent number: 4991542
Abstract: With the method and apparatus for forming a thin film by plasma CVD according to this invention, a substrate is disposed between a pair of feed-gas supplying electrodes, and plasma is generated by applying a high frequency electric power to the substrate as an object to be processed. Feed gas is supplied from the feed-gas supplying electrodes into the plasma and is activated, whereby a film is formed on the substrate. Therefore, a solid and fine thin film which has corrosion-resistive and abrasion-resistive properties is formed on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4769281
Abstract: This invention relates to a magnetic recording medium in which a protective film prepared by plasma polymerization of an organic compound such as dibenzyl or diphenyl which exhibits a solid phase at room temperature and under atmospheric pressure is formed on a thin ferro-magnetic film. This invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the magnetic recording medium. The protective film has a high wear resistance and excellent anti-corrosion properties.
