  • Publication number: 20060254791
Abstract: A gas-insulated equipment such as a gas-insulated switchgear provided according to the invention can efficiently improve dielectric strength of an entire electrode system considering electric field distribution of the electrodes and conductors and improving insulation coordination so that miniaturization of the entire device can be achieved. The gas-insulated switchgear includes insulating gas sealed within an earth metal container and an insulating spacer insulating and supporting high-voltage receiving portions. Surfaces of shielding electrodes having a larger diameter than that of high-voltage conductors are covered with thick dielectric coatings, and surfaces of the high-voltage conductors are covered with thin dielectric coatings.

  • Patent number: 6946613
Abstract: A gas-insulated switchgear includes a tank filled with an electrically insulating gas, first and second conductors disposed within the tank, a disconnector for disconnecting the first conductor and the second conductor from each other, and a grounding switch for grounding the first conductor when the disconnector is in an open position. The disconnector includes a first and second fixed electrode disposed on the first and second conductors, respectively, a bridging movable electrode that is always maintained in contact with the first electrode and that is slidably movable for contacting with and separating from the second fixed electrode to connect and disconnect the first and second fixed electrodes, and an operating mechanism for opening and closing operation of the movable electrode.

  • Patent number: 6189960
Abstract: When a rollover of a vehicle body is detected by a rollover detection sensor, an inflator is operated. When the inflator is operated, an air bag connected to the inflator through a hose is inflated by a gas ejected from the inflator, downwardly pushes open a front portion of a case accommodating portion of a ceiling interior member as shown by two-dotted chain lines, and expands to a position for closing a sunroof opening portion.

  • Patent number: 6154697
Abstract: A control system for an apparatus for protecting a head portion of a vehicle occupant includes: an air bag device having an air bag body for protecting a head portion of a vehicle occupant which air bag body inflates and unfolds between the head portion of the vehicle occupant and a side portion of a vehicle; a pretensioner which, upon operation, takes up slack of a seat belt fastened to the vehicle occupant; a roll angular velocity sensor for detecting a roll rate of the vehicle in order to determine a roll state of the vehicle; and a control circuit which, when a determined roll state is a predetermined roll state, controls operation of the air bag device and operation of the pretensioner such that the pretensioner is operated before operation of the air bag device. Accordingly, a space for unfolding the air bag body of the air bag device is ensured.

  • Patent number: 6104284
Abstract: A control circuit determines that a vehicle is in a turning mode. A roll rate sensor then detects the roll rate (RR) and determines whether or not the roll rate exceeds a threshold value. If it is determined that the roll rate does exceed the threshold value, then it is determined that the vehicle is in a roll over state if the relationship between the sideways acceleration (Gy) and the roll angle (RA) falls inside the roll over determining area of a determining map stored in advance in the control circuit. Accordingly, the roll over state of the vehicle is detected early.

  • Patent number: 5925084
Abstract: A rolling angular velocity sensor (30) is used to detect a roll of a vehicle. When the vehicle rolls at a predetermined or greater rolling rate and a rolling angle RA becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined upper limit value RA1, a control unit (50) gives an instruction to a high-speed control valve (46) of an attitude-sustaining air bag (22) via an input port (56) to open the high-speed control valve (46). This enables the high-pressure air to be fed into an air bag body (48) of the attitude-sustaining air bag (22), which is accordingly inflated and expanded to support the attitude of a passenger in a passenger's seat. When the acceleration in the lateral direction is not sufficiently large, when the passenger fastens a seat belt (24), or when the passenger is not seated, the attitude-sustaining air bag (22) is not activated.
