  • Patent number: 11943544
Abstract: An image capturing apparatus includes a determination unit configured to determine a first shutter speed based on a reciprocal of a light amount change frequency of detected flicker and a selection unit configured to select a second shutter speed as a candidate in capturing an image of the object with reduced effect of the flicker. If a third shutter speed is set in advance, the determination unit determines a closer one of shutter speeds to the third shutter speed than the others as the first shutter speed, wherein the shutter speeds being integer multiples of a shutter speed that is the reciprocal of the light amount change frequency of the flicker detected. The selection unit selects one of settable shutter speeds of the image capturing apparatus as the second shutter speed, wherein the one has a smaller difference from the first shutter speed than the others.

  • Patent number: 11616915
Abstract: An apparatus comprises: a sensor that shoots a subject and outputs an image; a shift unit that shifts a position on the sensor of an image of the subject incident on the sensor; and a detection unit that detects flicker based on partial images in a same partial region of a plurality of images consecutively obtained from the sensor. In a case where the sensor shoots the plurality of images while the shift unit is shifting the position of the image of the subject, the detection unit selects the partial region so that a change of the image of the subject in the partial region caused by the shift becomes small between the plurality of images.

  • Patent number: 11115603
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus that performs, when photographing an object, photographing by causing a light emission device to emit light to the object. A photometry sensor selectively obtains a first image having a first resolution and a second image having a second resolution lower than the first resolution, as a photometric image, and performs photometry using the obtained photometric image to thereby obtain a result of photometry. When performing light control processing for determining a main light emission amount for causing the light emission device to perform main light emission for photographing the object, the light control is switched between first control for performing light control processing based on the first image and second control for performing light control processing based on the second image, according to a result of determination of whether or not a predetermined condition is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 11080863
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a photometric sensor, and can continuously acquire a plurality of images by a single imaging operation. A CPU for image processing and an arithmetic operation acquires image data output by a photometric sensor and performs photometric processing. The CPU determines presence or absence of a flicker light source using a plurality of pieces of acquired image data, and calculates a motion vector of an object by comparison of image data. If it is determined that there is a flicker light source in a photographing environment, gain adjustment is performed on the basis of a result of flicker detection so as to have a brightness of an image suitable for detection of a motion vector, and the motion vector is calculated using image data after gain adjustment.
