The signal processing unit detects a level of the beat signal generated from the received direct wave. The signal processing unit determines a failure of the radar device by comparing the detected level with a threshold set on the basis of a beat signal level measurement under an environment that eliminates the reflected wave in advance. The transmitted chirp signal distributed from the transmission module is used as the reception chirp signal.
