Abstract: A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a first guide to guide a conveyed sheet and a second guide to face the first guide and to form a sheet conveyance path together with the first guide, with the second guide being pivotable between a first position in which the sheet conveyance path is formed and a second position in which the sheet conveyance path is opened. A cover is movable between a closed position in which it covers the second guide and an open position in which the second guide is manipulatable, and an abutting portion is provided on the cover to abut the second guide. In a state where the second guide is held at the second position by the holding portion and the cover moves to the closed position from the open position, the abutting portion abuts the second guide to release the second guide held by the holding portion.

Abstract: Since a releasing unit for performing a separating operation of a transfer unit and a developing device from a drum unit and a releasing operation of an engagement state held by a holding unit as one operation is provided, the drum unit can be put in a drawable state at a drawing-out time of the drum unit from an apparatus main unit by performing one operation through the releasing unit, and since the releasing unit is constituted so as to cover a drawing-out unit provided on an image bearing member unit at a mounting time of image bearing member unit and release the drawing-out unit at a drawing-out time of the image bearing member unit, a user's erroneous operation can be prevented reliably, where improvement in safety can be achieved by preventing an erroneous operation while facilitating the drawing-out operation of the drum unit.
