  • Publication number: 20240353359
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system for magnetic testing of samples. The system includes: (i) a magnetic field generator configured to, by rotating a magnet(s), which is permanent, produce a temporally modulated magnetic field over a region whereat a sample is positioned; (ii) a waveguide positioned adjacently to the sample; (iii) a first sensor configured to obtain a first signal by directly and/or indirectly measuring a modulation rate of the produced magnetic field; (iv) an electromagnetic signal generator coupled to a first end of the waveguide; (v) a second sensor coupled to a second end of the waveguide and configured to obtain a measured signal by measuring a power of an electromagnetic signal transmitted through the waveguide; and (vi) a heterodyne-based demodulator communicatively associated with the first and second sensors and configured to use a reference signal, constituted by or obtained from the first signal, to demodulate the measured signal.

  • Publication number: 20220176594
Abstract: Plastic waste is shredded and formed to a desired shape and held together using a binder and/or heat, etc. The resulting composite material may be useful for building and/or furniture and/or flooring, etc. (similar to wood composite board). In some embodiments, the board is highly water resistant. Optionally, the board is made of layers. For example, an inner layer has reduced density and/or an outer layer may have decreased particle size and/or increased fiber content.

  • Patent number: 8247760
Abstract: Ultra-cold (nano-Kelvin) neutral atoms can be trapped, manipulated, and measured, using integrated current carrying micro-structures on a nearby surface (Atom Chips). This can be utilized for the realization of ultra-sensitive sensors and quantum computation devices based on the quantum mechanical properties of the trapped atoms. However, harmful processes arise from the interactions between the atoms and the nearby surface. According to the present invention these harmful processes can be highly suppressed by using electrically anisotropic materials. It is shown that time-independent trapping potential corrugation leading to fragmentation of the trapped atom cloud can be suppressed, and that time dependent noise processes arising from the coupling of atoms to the nearby surface, and leading to loss of atoms from the trap, heating and loss of coherence can be significantly reduced.
