  • Publication number: 20200150978
Abstract: A method for operating a media agnostic universal serial bus (MAUSB) device includes a compute device having a link connection manager, a USB manager, and a state manager. The compute device establishes a link with a MAUSB device and a session with the MAUSB device. Subsequently to receipt of a sleep command for the compute device, the compute device transitions to a sleep state and terminates the link with the MAUSB device while keeping intact the session with the MAUSB device. The compute device transitions back to an active state in response to receipt of a wake command for the compute device. The compute device sends a wake request to the MAUSB device. If the MAUSB device responds to the wake request with an acceptance, then the compute device reestablishes the previous session with the MAUSB device. If instead an error is received, the compute device terminates the session.

  • Publication number: 20200121176
Abstract: The present specification describes a system and method for computing the temperature of the tip of a multiple viewing elements endoscope based on a measurement of junction temperatures of light emitting diode (LED) illuminators inside the tip. The measurement of temperature is used for taking corrective action if the temperature exceeds a limit. The temperature measurement is used for optimizing image parameters, as the performance of image sensors is affected by changes in ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 10524645
Abstract: In a multiple viewing elements endoscope, fuzziness and blur in the images due to movement of the endoscope is reduced by using flashing illuminators instead of continuous illumination. In one embodiment, LED illuminators are flashed at high intensity and for a very short duration. To address interlacing artifacts, LEDs are flashed once at the end of a field and again at the beginning of the following field to minimize the time difference between the capture of the two fields. In another embodiment, the LEDs are flashed once wherein the single flash overlaps the end of a field and the beginning of the following field. In some embodiments, still images may be captured with fine detail by pressing a button on the endoscope handle which activates the LEDs to flash along with the capture of an image. In one embodiment, pressing a button for still image capture results in the capture of two fields, each accompanied by a flash, which are interlaced to form a single still image frame.

  • Patent number: 10528508
Abstract: Technologies for improving enumeration of universal serial bus (USB) devices over a media agnostic USB (MAUSB) connection are disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, an MAUSB device may send USB configuration data to a host compute device. The host compute device may then perform a virtual enumeration of the USB devices based on the USB configuration data without necessarily communicating with the USB devices. The MAUSB device may perform an enumeration of the USB devices on behalf of the host compute devices without necessarily communicating with the host compute device. The USB devices may not be aware or have any indication that the USB device is not communicating with the host compute device during the enumeration process. Such an approach may improve the latency of USB enumeration over an MAUSB connection.

  • Patent number: 10292188
Abstract: Disclosed herein are connection management techniques for wireless docking. According to various such techniques, a wireless docking station may be arranged to implement an auto-connect mode setting that defines whether mobile clients are permitted to automatically connect to the wireless docking station, and may be arranged to implement a persistent pairing setting that defines whether authentication certificates may be reused. In some embodiments, the wireless docking station may be configured to advertise the auto-connect mode setting and the persistent pairing setting in auto-connect capability information elements (IEs) that it includes in probe requests and/or probe responses. The embodiments are not limited in this context.

  • Patent number: 10123684
Abstract: An endoscope video processing system applies a blooming control feature to image frames of video data signals generated by viewing elements in the endoscope tip. A reduced digital gain is applied to a luminance (Y) component of the video data signal to generate an attenuated signal. An average luminance value of pixels neighboring a pixel of the attenuated signal is calculated and a function of the average luminance value is determined to generate a smoothly transitioning digital gain. The smoothly transitioning digital gain is conditioned using weights to generate a customizable digital gain, and the customizable digital gain is applied to the attenuated signal. This Local Blooming Control (LBC) facilitates a higher luminance digital gain in darker portions while maintaining a low or no luminance digital gain in brighter portions, within the same image frame.

  • Publication number: 20180095500
Abstract: A novel docking process introduces a new handshake scheme between a first device (referred to herein as the “Dockee”) and a docking device (referred to simply as the “Dock”) to communicate a user's intention to connect the Dockee and the Dock (i.e., dock the Dockee to the Dock). The handshake consists of two steps: 1) establish a connection over a near field communication (NFC) link to convey information about the docking event; and 2) establish a second connection over the Wireless Channel to connect the Dockee and the Dock. The first step delivers a one-time secure connection token to the Dock over the NFC channel. Further, the presence of the NFC channel establishes the physical proximity of the user to the Dock. During step 2, a new Information Element is introduced to deliver the token back to the Dockee to allow for authentication and “closure” of the handshake.

  • Publication number: 20180007722
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to unauthorized users notification. A device may identify a request from a first device to establish a direct connection. The device may determine a connection status based at least in part on information included in the request. The device may generate a response frame including a connection status information element (IE). The device may cause to send the response frame to the first device.
