  • Publication number: 20220087596
Abstract: The present application is directed to a device for inspecting a keratinous surface of a user, preferably a hair sample, comprising a housing in which an image sensor is arranged to receive measurement light emitted from a measuring area configured to accommodate the keratinous surface, through a measurement window in a front wall of the housing, over a corresponding imaging light path, the device being further equipped with an illumination ring arranged in the housing rear of the measurement window around the imaging light path, said illumination ring having two opposed partially peripheral illumination portions separated by two opposed complementary partially peripheral non-illuminating portions, the illuminating portions being further configured to illuminate the measuring area through the measurement window over a illumination light path, said illumination light path having an angle of incidence comprised between 30 to 60°, preferably about 45°.

  • Patent number: 10806234
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for analyzing hair and/or predicting an outcome of hair-coloring treatment. disclosed is method of predicting a result of a hair-color-modifying treatment on a sample of hair, the method comprising: a. for each given region of a plurality of distinct regions, respectively measuring a region-specific spectrum of respective material of the hair-sample respectively disposed within the given region; and b. computing first and second predicted post-treatment spectra respectively from first and second initial spectra by respectively predicting a transformation of the first and second initial spectra following subjecting the sample of hair to the hair-color-modifying treatment, the first and second initial spectra being distinct and (i) derived from the plurality of measured region-specific spectra and/or (ii) corresponding to first and second of the measured region-specific spectra.

  • Patent number: 10292482
Abstract: A system for optically acquiring data from hair comprises a hair-holder including: upper and lower plate assemblies respectively having downward-facing and upward-facing opposing surfaces defining a gap therebetween, the lower plate assembly having a window-void therein, the upper plate assembly further comprising a sideward-facing sample-thickness-regulating surface above the gap; and an alignment-wall mechanically coupled to both plate assemblies and having a side-facing alignment surface within gap or sideward-facing into the gap, the alignment surface being straight along a longitudinal direction parallel to both of the opposing surfaces, the hair-holder being configured so that: when an externally-tensioned sample of hair is loaded onto the hair-holder by laterally moving the sample towards the alignment surface, a presence of the sideward-facing sample-thickness-regulating surface regulates an amount of hair permitted to enter the gap, thereby regulating a thickness of hair above the window-void to at l

  • Publication number: 20020196843
Abstract: A transceiver card for a personal computer includes a single circuit board that plugs into the personal computer and that is coupled to exchange data via an industry-standard bus in the personal computer. Radio frequency modulation circuitry on the circuit board receives the data and transmits radio frequency signals responsive thereto. Receiver circuitry receives radio frequency signals and converts the received signals to data for transfer via the bus. In an alternative configuration, the transceiver includes two circuit boards coupled to a USB bus within an external box. Data is exchanged with the computer through a USB port in the computer.
