Abstract: A wearable physiological monitor (WPM) and system, compliant in shape to a subject's body, that collects physiological parameter information from a subject's body and conveys it to a receiver. In one embodiment, central housing includes a direct skin contacting (DSC) sensor in direct contact with the subject's body, that collects the parameter information and conveys to other parts of the central housing. In one embodiment, a system includes a WPM and a strap, wherein the strap includes a hole through which a DSC sensor may be located, and includes also additional embedded sensors. In one embodiment, a charging base for a WPM has tapered walls and a connection to a power source that permit easy and accurate placement in the base by a combination of gravity and magnetic forces.

Abstract: A control unit disposed in a remote-control pointing device for providing a control and pointing function. The control unit comprises a stationary element, a movable control element with a reflective surface disposed proximate to the stationary element, at least one optical sensor fixedly disposed in close proximity to the movable control element, and at least one pressure sensor. When the optical sensor is activated by movement of the movable control element and when the movable control element is put into pressure contact with the pressure sensor, location and pressure contact data, respectively, are collected by the control unit enabling control and pointing functions associated with the pointing device without the need for an external, stationary reference surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new interactive and adaptive messaging system and method adapted to allow effective communication and relationship between customers, owners of a confined predetermined area and advertisers. The system comprises at least one server adapted to receive content from the customers, the owners, the advertisers, and the predetermined area and to create relevant information and adapted to distribute the information to the customers. A part of the information is distributed when the customer is identified by the messaging system to enter the predetermined area and another part of the information is distributed to the customer according to content received by the server from the customer or the predetermined area. The customers are exposed to the information regularly as they are traveling within the predetermined area as well as at specific locations and times within the predetermined area.
