  • Publication number: 20200164667
Abstract: A printer with a cutting head operates such that a medium is pulled out from a roll until at least a cutting area is moved along a conveying path of the medium to be located farther in a first conveying direction than the cutting head. The first conveying direction is a direction in which the medium is pulled out from the roll. Thereafter, the printer with a cutting head performs cutting while conveying the medium in a second conveying direction in which the medium that has been pulled out is moved back. Thereafter, the printer with a cutting head further performs printing while conveying the medium in the first conveying direction.

  • Patent number: 9367779
Abstract: A processing device is provided. A first storage unit stores a correspondence table which is indicative of a correspondence relationship between attributes of data and encryption levels for encrypting data. An obtaining unit obtains data. A first determination unit determines an encryption level according to an attribute of the data obtained by the obtaining unit, using the correspondence table stored in the first storage unit. An encryption unit encrypts the data obtained by the obtaining unit in the encryption level determined by the first determination unit. A second storage unit stores the data encrypted by the encryption unit.

  • Publication number: 20130293918
Abstract: Tampering with fiscal information written to memory can be detected without reducing the write speed. When fiscal information is written to first memory unit 411 by means of a fiscal control CPU 42 , a memory control CPU 412 writes a first hash value corresponding to the fiscal information in second memory unit 413. When fiscal information is read from the first memory unit 411, the fiscal control CPU 42 reads the first hash value from the second memory unit 413 through the memory control CPU 412, compares the first hash value with a second hash value calculated from the fiscal information read from first memory unit 411, and detects tampering with the fiscal information.

  • Patent number: 8006051
Abstract: A data processing device with maintenance counters reliably stores the maintenance counter values. A data processing device such as a printer has RAM for storing the maintenance counter values, EEPROM segmented into a nonvolatile maintenance counter area and a temporary maintenance counter storage area, and a CPU for updating the maintenance counter values in RAM based on detection of a state change in the printer. The CPU writes the maintenance counter values accumulated in RAM at a predetermined time to the temporary maintenance counter storage area, and at a predetermined time writes the maintenance counter values from the temporary maintenance counter storage area to the nonvolatile maintenance counter area.

  • Patent number: 7634648
Abstract: A data processing apparatus and a control method for a data processing apparatus can start up by running a normal boot program the next time the power turns on in the event the power turns off while rewriting the boot program to flash ROM by temporarily providing a plurality of boot sectors instead of always maintaining a plurality of boot sectors in flash ROM. During the memory writing mode the flash ROM 101 is segmented into a boot selector sector 201, main sector 202, first boot sector 203, and a second boot sector 204 that is temporarily reserved by overwriting a part of the main sector 202 in the memory writing mode.
