    Abstract: The invention relates to methods for treating cotton yarn and can be used to the best advantage in the treatment of yarn produced by pneumatic spinning. According to the proposed method, the yarn is impregnated with liquid ammonia and then stretched in an aqueous bath containing a sizing agent in an amount sufficient to increase the yarn strength 18 to 25 percent.
