    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a serving base station of the UE has obtained access to a wireless channel of a shared radio frequency spectrum band during a transmission opportunity that is separate from a scheduled uplink transmission by the UE. The UE may perform, based at least in part on the determination, a clear channel assessment (CCA) procedure on the wireless channel during a designated quiet portion of the transmission opportunity. The UE may transmit an unsolicited CCA status report to the serving base station during the transmission opportunity based at least in part on the CCA procedure.

    Abstract: Coordination of listen before talk (LBT) structure in new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) multi-channel access operations is disclosed. In one aspect, when a base station determines to access shared communication spectrum, it may transmit an LBT structure signal that identifies the current LBT structure. The base station would then attempt access to the shared spectrum according to the LBT structure. In another aspect, a coordination server is used to manage access to the shared spectrum. Each node desiring access registers with the coordination server, which provides access parameters for the accessing node to use that increases the likelihood of successful access. The accessing nodes will transmit the selected access configuration used to access the shared spectrum, wherein the access configuration is selected based on the access parameters.

    Abstract: New radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) multi-channel access is disclosed for low-radio frequency (RF)-capable user equipment (UE). A base station may enable multi-channel access when single operator operations cannot be guaranteed within a shared communication spectrum. The primary and secondary channels are defined within the shared communication channel. The base station may then transmit a configuration message to one or more low-RF UEs that identifies the charnels and directs the UEs to monitor the primary channel for a successful listen before talk (LBT) indicator. The base station performs an LBT procedure on the primary channel and the secondary channel and signals the low-RF UEs to re-tune to the secondary channel for communication during a current transmission opportunity.

In another example, the SSS may be received in each of a second plurality of consecutive symbols of the subframe, wherein the second plurality of consecutive symbols is after the first plurality of consecutive symbols within the subframe. A UE may transmit two or more signals in an uplink transmission that have different beamforming parameters. The base station may inform the UE of the identified first signal, which the UE may use to set receive beam beamforming parameters for one or more subsequent downlink transmissions.

    Abstract: An asynchronous channel reservation design is disclosed having a partial symbol alignment. The transmitting node performs a listen before talk (LBT) procedure on a transmission channel shared by one or more transmission/reception points (TRPs). Upon detecting passing the LBT, a preamble is transmitted followed by a dynamic length cyclic prefix that includes the normal cyclic prefix plus an additional variable period. The transmitter then transmits the channel reservation message after the dynamic length cyclic prefix. On the detector side, once the preamble is detected, the detecting node assumes a normal cyclic prefix before attempting to detect and decode the channel reservation information in the message. Using a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) in the channel reservation message, the detecting node may detect the channel reservation message information from the shifted version of the detected message.

Additionally or alternatively, a wireless node may listen in directions in a sweeping receive pattern while transmitting to a second wireless node. While listening, the wireless node may detect a transmission from a third wireless node in a particular direction. The wireless node may then accordingly refrain from transmitting in that direction to avoid potential interference.

    Abstract: Techniques for managing access to a shared communication medium are disclosed. Scheduling grants may be sent to different access terminals for different sets of resources for uplink transmission on the communication medium. A series of re-contention gaps may be scheduled for access terminal contention within or between the different sets of resources. Uplink and downlink transmission on the communication medium may be silenced during each of the series of re-contention gaps. Moreover, an access terminal may receive a scheduling grant that allocates a set of resources to the access terminal for uplink transmission on a communication medium and contend for access to the communication medium based on the scheduling grant. The access terminal may then selectively transmit uplink traffic over the allocated set of resources based on the contending.
