Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing transaction records. In overview, consumers are issued respective tokens, which are presented to a supplier at the time an item is purchased. Rather than, or in addition to, issuing a paper receipt, the point of sale (POS) equipment scans the card and extracts an identifier. The point of sale equipment then formats an electronic receipt and sends the receipt to a predetermined location based on the extracted identifier.
