  • Publication number: 20050063935
Abstract: The present invention provides an adsorbent for efficiently adsorbing and removing cytokine in liquid and a method for removing cytokine in liquid by the adsorbent. Also, the present invention provides an adsorber for removing cytokine in liquid. Specifically, an adsorbent for cytokine is obtained by immobilizing a compound having a log P value of at least 2.50 (P is the partition coefficient in an octanol-water system) on a water-insoluble carrier. By contacting a liquid containing cytokine with the adsorbent for cytokine, the cytokine in the liquid can be effectively adsorbed and removed. Furthermore, cytokine can be efficiently adsorbed and removed by an adsorber comprising a container having an inlet and an outlet for liquid and a means for preventing the adsorbent from flowing out of the container, which is filled with the adsorbent.

  • Patent number: 6844427
Abstract: An adsorbent suitable for adsorption of a transforming growth factor-? (TGF-?) comprising a compound which has a log P value of at least 2.50 wherein P is a partition coefficient in an octanol-water system and which is immobilized on a water-insoluble carrier. TGF-? present in a body fluid can be efficiently removed by bringing the body fluid into contact with the adsorbent.

  • Patent number: 6790365
Abstract: There are provided an adsorbent which can effectively adsorb and remove endogenous cannabinoid in fluid, and a process for removing endogenous cannabinoid in fluid by means of the adsorbent. The adsorbent of endogenous cannabinoid comprising an adsorbent for endogenous cannabinoid comprising a water-insoluble material containing a substance whose solubility parameter &dgr; is at most 12 ((cal/cm3)1/2) is obtained. Endogenous cannabinoid in fluid can be effectively adsorbed and removed by contacting the adsorbent of endogenous cannabinoid with fluid containing endogenous cannabinoid.

  • Patent number: 6475478
Abstract: There are provided an adsorbent which can effectively adsorb and remove endogenous cannabinoid in fluid, and a process for removing endogenous cannabinoid in fluid by means of the adsorbent. The adsorbent of endogenous cannabinoid is obtained by fixing a compound having a log P value (P indicating distribution coefficient in octanol-water system) of at least 3.50 on a water-insoluble carrier. Endogenous cannabinoid in fluid can be adsorbed and removed in an effective manner by contacting the adsorbent of endogenous cannabinoid with fluid containing endogenous cannabinoid.
