  • Patent number: 6293870
Abstract: A damper disc assembly having multiple embodiments. In one embodiment, spring seats are arranged at opposite ends of coil springs disposed between a power input rotary member and a power output rotary member. Each spring seat has a contacting surface with mutually perpendicular slanting portions. In another embodiment, a modified spring seat determines a phase or orientation of the power input rotary member with respect to the power output rotary member. In a third embodiment, a friction element is formed of resin and includes a friction adjusting element. The body portion of the friction element is made of resin and includes a friction generating surface that contacts a side surface of the sub-plate. The fiction adjusting element is provided in the friction generating surface of the body portion by molding and modifies the friction coefficient thereof. In a fourth embodiment, the friction element has a coating applied to a friction surface which modifies the friction coefficient.

  • Patent number: 6210280
Abstract: A pair of spring seats (32) are used at opposite ends of a small coil spring (6) disposed between a power input rotary member and a power output rotary member. Each spring seat (32) includes a receiving side surface for receiving the spring and a contacting surface (36). Each contacting surface (36) is formed with four slanting surfaces that slant inward toward a central portion of the contacting surface. The intersections of the four slanting surfaces of each spring seat define two intersecting V-shaped grooves (37, 38). The power input rotary member and the power output rotary member contact respective portions of one of the V-shaped grooves (37, 38) of each spring seat. Engagement between the rotary members and the engaged V-shaped grooves restricts movement of the spring seats (32).

  • Patent number: 4406357
Abstract: A damper disk comprises a pair of side plates at both sides of a flange of a hub splined to an output shaft. Both side plates and the flange are connected each other through torsion springs. One or a pair of sub-plates are disposed between the flange and the side plates. Both side plates are connected together by a stop pin which extends through notches in the flange and the sub-plates. The notches in the sub-plates are shorter than the notch in the flange. Frictional force between the flange 2 and the sub-plate is set stronger than that between the side plates and sub-plates. According to the invention, hysteresis torque changes during torsional operation, thereby, noises during idling of the engine as well as acceleration can be prevented.
