  • Patent number: 7903174
Abstract: A broadcasting data receiving apparatus which can receive broadcasting data and update software by using software update data received as the broadcasting data includes a receiving portion operable to receive broadcasting data, a video/audio processing portion operable to process video data included in the received broadcasting data for video display and audio data included in the received broadcasting data for audio output based on stored software, an operation input portion operable to receive a user operation, and a control portion operable to (i) control the processing in the video/audio processing portion, (ii) perform software update processing on a necessary component by using received software update data if the received broadcasting data includes the software update data, and (iii) perform minimal display processing or minimal audio output processing in the video/audio processing portion if the operation input portion receives a user operation to start the apparatus during execution of the update pro

  • Patent number: 7801730
Abstract: A voice recognition control system capable of realizing control of entire voice-recognizable electronic devices through voice recognition. This control system includes a voice input unit for inputting an operator's voice, a voice recognition unit and a controller constituting a control means which recognizes the operator's voice obtained from the voice input unit and controls input/output of an MD player having a voice recognition table where the operator's voice is stored in advance as an expected value. When an unregistered MD player has been connected first, the voice recognition unit registers the voice recognition table provided from the MD player. And upon input of the operator's voice by the voice input unit, the control means compares the operator's voice with the preregistered voice recognition table, and then the controller controls the input/output of the MD player in accordance with the result of comparing the operator's voice with the voice recognition table.

  • Patent number: 5903228
Abstract: A traveling route display apparatus for a moving body such as an automotive vehicle includes a position detecting section, an output section, a display section, and a converting section. The position detecting section detects a current position of the moving body by using a signal transmitted from a satellite. The output section outputs map information including character information corresponding to a position on the map recorded on a recording medium, etc. The display section displays the map information delivered from the output section, and displays, on the map information, the current position of the moving body detected by the position detecting section. In addition, the converting section converts character information corresponding to the current position of the moving body detected by the position detecting section into voice to output it.

  • Patent number: 5708438
Abstract: An angular velocity calculating apparatus which is low-priced and capable of obtaining an angular velocity with high accuracy is realized. Two velocity detectors which are substantially small in offset error, noise, or the like, unlike the conventionally employed gyroscope, is disposed at portions on the moving matter or in the vicinity thereof, and the angular velocity is obtained on the basis of the velocity information obtained from these detectors. Accordingly, the angular velocity calculating apparatus and a navigation apparatus can be realized which is higher in accuracy and cheaper as compared with the conventional ones.

  • Patent number: 5469152
Abstract: A remote control device controls an electronic system that has a number of functions. The remote control device has a limited number of function keys, and certain keys correspond to different functions of the electronic system. In order to permit discrimination of the function keys, the length of time during which the function key is actuated is employed in the electronic system. To prevent erroneous control caused by artificial interruption of the control signal, the remote control device appends one of two different time code signals to the key code corresponding to the actuated function key, whereby discrimination of the actuation time at the electronic system is made possible.

  • Patent number: 5446879
Abstract: An electronic system having a function to output history information of error. A microprocessor assembled in the electronic system stores, into a memory unit, every occurrence of error, error information indicating the contents of errors of various controlled units constituting a mechanical deck unit controlled by the microcomputer, and accepts or receives a command of an operation unit to read out error information indicating those error contents from the memory unit to display history information of error on a display unit.
