  • Patent number: 5189404
Abstract: An information processing system comprises a display apparatus having a display screen which can be held in position of either vertical elongation or lateral elongation. The information processing system provides the operator with messages necessary for operation. By detecting the position of elongation of the display screen, data for the messages are selectively rotated so as to be always displayed uprightly on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 5179683
Abstract: An apparatus having a storage device for storing information, a CPU for controlling the information and the overall apparatus, and a data bus connecting these constituent elements, there are disposed a plurality of retrieval devices for retrieving information so as to effect concurrent retrieval processing. The retrieval device includes a circuit to conduct a hardware retrieval, a processing unit to achieve a software retrieval, and a data bus connecting these components. The retrieval data is subdivided into partitions by the CPU so as to be subjected to parallel processing in the respective retrieval devices in a distributed fashion.

  • Patent number: 5134390
Abstract: In a filing system having a storage device for storing image information and a display with a rectangular screen for visually displaying the stored image information, the screen is arranged to be positioned at an upright position or at a lateral position, with a motor. The switch between two positions of the screen is effected upon instruction input from a keyboard, or in accordance with the information representative of the screen position which is stored beforehand in the storage device for each of the image information. The screen is also provided with a tilting mechanism which is released while the screen rotates. There is compensate circuit compensating for a positional displacement of a displayed image caused by a difference of earth magnetism between two positions of the screen.

  • Patent number: 5034733
Abstract: An image data rotating apparatus has an n.times.n dot matrix memory which temporarily stores n.times.n dots of image data supplied from a first image data memory. A row/column selector selects one row or column of the n.times.n dot matrix memory in response to a rotation indicating signal, which selects an integer times 90.degree. as a rotating degree, for example, 0.degree., 90.degree., 180.degree., 270.degree. or the like. The n dots of image data stored in the selected row or colum are re-written by outputting the stored data into a second image data memory, and by inputting another n dots of image data from the first image data memory in the same cycle, and with the repeating of this cycle, all the n.times.n dots of image data stored in the n.times.n dot matrix memory are re-written so that the rotated image data can be retrieved from the second image data memory.
