  • Patent number: 10837328
Abstract: An engine is provided which includes an oil gallery, a base attaching seat in an engine frame wall, and a base for component mounting attached to the base attaching seat. An oil cooler and an oil filter are mounted on the base for component mounting, and the base attaching seat is provided with an oil inlet communicating with an upstream-side passage of the oil gallery, and an oil outlet communicating with a downstream-side passage of the oil gallery. Attaching the base for component mounting to the base attaching seat allows engine oil flowing into the oil inlet of the base attaching seat from the upstream-side passage of the oil gallery to pass the base for component mounting, the oil cooler, and the oil filter, and flow out of the oil outlet of the base attaching seat to the downstream-side passage of the oil gallery.

  • Patent number: 6880520
Abstract: In a direct injection diesel engine, front and rear intake openings of each cylinder are arranged along the row direction of the cylinders on one side thereof. A front intake port communicating with the front intake opening is formed to extend from the front intake opening in a direction generally perpendicular to the row direction of the cylinders. A rear intake port communicating with the rear intake opening is formed to be directed to a flow direction of a swirl generated in the corresponding combustion chamber.

  • Publication number: 20040194450
Abstract: An exhaust purification device incinerates particulates, collected by the DPF, always in an appropriate combustion state, thereby surely regenerating a DPF without melting down the DPF. An ECU of the device estimates the amount of the particulates collected by the DPF (S6), selects a map according to whether the collection amount is appropriate or excessive (S8), determines a target oxygen amount from a DPF temperature on the basis of the selected map (S10 and S12), and feedbacks the oxygen amount in exhaust gas to the target oxygen amount (S20). Since the particulate collection amount is reflected in control of the oxygen amount, the particulates can be incinerated always in the appropriate combustion state regardless of the particulate collection amount.
