  • Patent number: 5691409
Abstract: The present invention provides a phenolic resin molding material high in flowability and heat stability in the molten state and excellent in curability at high temperatures which contains (a) a high ortho-novolak type phenolic resin having a number-average molecular weight of 350-500 and an ortho-bond/para-bond ratio of 1.5-2.5, (b) hexamethylene-tetramine, (c) a low-molecular polyolefin compound and (d) a filler. This phenolic resin molding material can further contain a crystalline phenolic compound having two or more benzene rings and/or a monohydric aliphatic alcohol to further improve the flowability, heat stability and curability.

  • Patent number: 5679305
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for injection molding a phenolic resin molding material which includes injection molding a phenolic resin molding material having a melt viscosity of 10.sup.4 Pa.cndot.s or lower, preferably 10.sup.3 Pa.cndot.s or lower at 100.degree. C. by an injection molding machine having a screw of 1.5 or higher in compression ratio and/or provided with a back-flow stopping ring at the tip portion of the screw.According to the present invention, it is possible to carry out injection molding of phenolic resin molding materials with injection molding machines generally used for molding of thermoplastic resins by employing phenolic resin molding materials which are low in viscosity in molten state. Furthermore, the injection molding can be carried out under relatively low pressure and thus, occurrence of flash can be inhibited.
