  • Patent number: 10717397
Abstract: An interior part having high mechanical strength while having a stitch pattern penetrating a base-material layer is provided. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing an interior part that improves strength of the base-material layer and enhances sewing compatibility is provided. The interior part includes a skin layer joined to one surface of a base-material layer. The base-material layer contains reinforcing fibers and a thermoplastic resin binding the reinforcing fibers. A thread sewn between an opposite surface of the base-material layer with respect to the one surface and a design surface of the skin layer forms a stitch pattern provided on the design surface. A sewn area of the base-material layer is thicker than the periphery. The method includes a shaping step of shaping a fiber-reinforced board in which the thermoplastic resin is softened and forming an area to be sewn thicker than the periphery by releasing compression.

  • Patent number: 6960383
Abstract: Combined boards are taught that comprise a second board substrate (12) having a through bore (14) formed therein, a first board substrate (10), and a connector pin (40, 50) received in the through bore (14) of the second board substrate (12). The first and second board substrates overlap such that the through bore (14) of the second board substrate (12) is covered by a first surface (10b) of the first board substrate (10). The connector pin is fusion bonded to a circumferential surface of the through bore (14) and the first surface (10b) of the first board substrate (10).

  • Patent number: 6932937
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing a molded article having a substrate material and skin material may include a first die that receives and supports the substrate material and a second die that receives and supports the skin material. The first die is arranged and constructed to engage the first die. A cutter may be provided on the first molding die. The cutter can be actuated when the second die moves toward the first die in order to partially cut away the substrate material.

  • Patent number: 6663733
Abstract: A granular, ground filler of plant origin, such as kenaf fiber, is mixed into a synthetic resin to form a melted synthetic resin Ca, which is extruded from an output port 36 of a low-pressure extruder 30 as an intermediate resin layer C. A first coating material A and a second coating material B are superimposed on the two surfaces of the intermediate resin layer C. Thereafter, both coating materials A and B are pressed and adhered to the melted intermediate resin layer C by a roller press 50.
