  • Publication number: 20070172686
Abstract: A polarized plate includes a polarized layer, a first optical film located on a upper side of the polarized layer and a second optical film located on a lower side of the polarized layer. At least one of the first and second optical films is made from Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA). The optical films are formed by dispensing a mixed solution on a substrate, then bonding to the polarized layer and processed through a heat treatment. The optical films may also be formed by dispensing the mixed solution on the surface of the polarized layer and processed through a heat treatment.

  • Publication number: 20070100036
Abstract: The present invention discloses an optical film and method of manufacturing the same. The selected PMMA is well mixed with a solvent to form a wet film by employing a solvent molding technology, and then the wet film is heated to form a dry film. The optical film comprises a material at least selected from a group consisting of PMMA, PMMA with a first functional group replaced by a second functional group and PMMA of intermixing a mixture; and a solvent well mixed with the material selected from the group consisting of PMMA, PMMA with a first functional group replaced by a second functional group and PMMA of intermixing a mixture at a predetermine proportion to form a mixing solution under various conditions, thereby the optical film is formed from the mixing solution by way of a dry treatment.

  • Publication number: 20070059540
Abstract: The present invention provides a cost-efficient, easy-processed producing method, instead of utilizing complicated steps of stretching and precisely controlling stretching ratio and direction in conventional technology, to obtain a PI optical compensation negative C plate of biphenyl ring structure without fluorine by means of coating, and an optical compensation film of PI film-comprising negative birefringent C plate useful as viewing angle compensation film for TFT-LCDs.

  • Publication number: 20050266159
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for improving birefringence of an optical film. The birefringence may be optically positive one and negative one. The method includes adding nano-particles into a polymer in accordance with a process of solution casting to prepare an optical hybrid film of high birefringence. The method of the present invention includes the steps of dissolving, knife coating, drying, heating and stretching a film. The optical hybrid film is useful in retardation film in a liquid crystal display.
