Abstract: A pair of ergonomic scissors and shears are provided. The pair of scissors comprising a first blade and a second blade pivotally connected by a coupler. The first blade coupled to a thumb loop and the second blade coupled to a finger loop. The thumb loop including a first grip extending about an inner ring of the thumb loop and the finger loop including a second grip extending about an inner ring of the finger loop. The pair of scissors further including a third grip extending at least partially along a first side of the finger loop and including a plurality of protrusions and a third grip extending at least partially along a neck formed between the finger loop and the second blade. The first gripping element, the second gripping element, and the third gripping element formed from a gripping material and overmolded on the respective thumb loop and finger loop.

Abstract: An industrial box top opener having a housing body, an opening therein through which a utility blade partially extends, a retractable shield rotatably coupled to the housing body, and one or more grips is provided. By some approaches, the retractable shield can move or rotate between an extended state where it covers the portion of the utility blade extending from the opening of the housing body to a retracted state where the retractable shield is retracted into the internal cavity of the housing body through the opening and at least a portion of the utility blade is exposed. In one illustrative embodiment, the grips of the housing body include a first grip and a second grip. The second grip having a first gripping pattern and a second gripping pattern.

Abstract: Knives including utility knives, folding knives, and snap knives are provided. The knives including a blade holder configured to receive a utility blade. The blade holder connected to a handle. The handle having a first grip located on a first side of the handle and a second grip located on a second side of the handle. The first grip having a repeating pattern with a plurality of valleys having a first angular side and a second angular side. The first angular side and the second angular side meet to form a lowermost portion of the valley. The second grip having a surface with a plurality of discrete protrusions thereon along with a ridged surface.

Abstract: A rotary cutter having a blade holder configured to receive a rotary blade is provided. In some configurations, the rotary cutter has one or more shields slidably connected to a body and configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position. In some configurations, when a first shield is in an extended position it has a portion disposed beyond a first portion of the edge of the rotary blade and when a second shield is a second extended position it has a portion disposed beyond a second portion of the edge of the rotary blade different than the first portion of the rotary blade.

Abstract: A knife block and storage system are provided. The knife block includes a block body and an elongate slot formed in the block body. In some configurations, the elongate slot extends from the top surface and along a side surface. The knife block also may include a notch disposed in a top surface that is configured to receive and mate with a bolster of a first kitchen knife. The elongate slot is typically sized and shaped to accommodate a kitchen knife within the block body and is configured to permit removal of the kitchen knife from within the block body by sliding a blade of the kitchen knife out of the elongate slot through the side surface or by removing the knife blade through a portion of the elongate slot in the top surface.
