Tanja Cassel has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11535747
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of PMMI copolymers for reducing the decrease in molecular weight of the polymer induced by addition of talc in compositions based on aromatic polycarbonate. At the same time, the mechanical, optical and rheological properties of the thermoplastic composition, in spite of the addition of the PMMI copolymer, remain good and are in some cases even improved.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 2018
Date of Patent: December 27, 2022
    Assignee: Covestro Deutschland AG
    Inventors: Tim Hungerland, Tanja Cassel
  • Patent number: 11345812
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of PMMI copolymers for reducing the molecular weight degradation of the polymer induced by oxides such as titanium dioxide or silicon dioxide in compositions based on aromatic polycarbonate. The mechanical, optical and rheological properties of the thermoplastic composition remain good and are in some cases even improved despite the addition of the PMMI copolymer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 2018
Date of Patent: May 31, 2022
    Assignee: Covestro Deutschland AG
    Inventors: Tim Hungerland, Tanja Cassel

  • Publication number: 20190143582
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of copolycarbonates stable at high temperature as a supporting material in the FDM (fused deposition modeling) method, said copolycarbonates having a Vicat temperature determined in accordance with ISO 306:2013 of at least 150° C. Polyester, polyamide, PC/polyester blend, and/or polyaryl ether ketone is used as a printing material.

  • Patent number: 8969477
Abstract: The invention relates to compositions containing at least one (co)polycarbonate stable at high temperature and at least one ethylene-alkyl acrylate block copolymer, and to moldings and injection molded parts and extrudates obtainable from these compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 2012
Date of Patent: March 3, 2015
    Assignee: Bayer MaterialScience AG
Inventors: Gesa Dern, Heinz Pudleiner, Tanja Cassel, Carsten Witzke
  • Patent number: 8916630
Abstract: The present invention relates to a thermoplastic molding composition composed of polycarbonate and inorganic fillers which comprises from 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight of at least one anhydride-modified alpha-olefin terpolymer and which has a high degree of rigidity and nevertheless exhibits good strength, as well as stress-strain characteristics corresponding to those of an unreinforced polycarbonate. Surprisingly, the molding composition additionally exhibits an improvement in flame retardancy. The invention relates in particular to flame-retardant, thermoplastic molding compositions filled with glass fibers, and to the production and use thereof. The property profile is, surprisingly, independent of the degree of interaction of the filler with the polycarbonate matrix.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 2012
Date of Patent: December 23, 2014
    Assignee: Bayer Intellectual Property GmbH
Inventors: Gesa Dern, Birte Sämisch, Tanja Cassel
