  • Publication number: 20240415625
Abstract: An animal positioned on a perforated platform can be stimulated in an automated fashion. Images of the animal's paw are captured using a bottom-view camera positioned below the platform. Based on these images, an upwards-pointing tool is moved until it is directly beneath the paw. The animal is then stimulated automatically by moving the tool upwards to contact the paw, then moving it back down to cease the contact. Images of the animal are captured using at least one side-view camera, and these images can be analyzed to ascertain the animal's response to the stimulus.

  • Publication number: 20240142757
Abstract: Exemplary systems, method and compute-accessible medium can be provided, e.g., for a visual stimulation or an optogenetic activation during a scan of at an object. For example, it is possible to utilize a controller which can be configured to receive signal information regarding the scan, and to precisely control a light engine. The exemplary control of the light engine can be used to activate and deactivate a light source or a plurality of light sources (e.g., one or more at least one light emitting diodes). using the signal information. For example, a digital micromirror device can be utilized through which the light engine is precisely controlled for a full field projection, or patterned projection, wherein the light engine can comprise up to eight high power light sources.

  • Publication number: 20190261597
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for a virtual burrow assay for a diversity of neurological and psychiatric disorders. For example, a virtual burrow assay device including a virtual burrow (or enclosure), a linear actuator and one or more sensors is provided. A novel rail system is configured to have a lightweight configuration which, when coupled to the virtual burrow or enclosure, reduces inertia of the virtual burrow or enclosure and can facilitate nearly-frictionless motion of the virtual burrow or enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20180226220
Abstract: An apparatus for a transmission electron microscope includes a housing configured to be attached to the transmission electron microscope; a plunger received in the housing and movable relative to the housing; a first set of pieces coupled to the plunger, the first piece being configured to move relative to the housing in response to the plunger moving relative to the housing; and a second set of pieces positioned in a fixed spatial relationship relative to each other, the second set of pieces and the first set of pieces forming a perimeter of an opening, an extent of the opening being continuously variable by moving the first set of piece relative to the second set of pieces.
