  • Patent number: 8412560
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for optimizing prices of items using current offers. Numerous current offers to sell an item are determined from a subset of sellers in an electronic marketplace. Each one of the subset of sellers is associated with a respective reputational score that meets a minimum threshold. A competitive price is generated for the item based at least in part on an average marketplace price determined from the current offers.

  • Publication number: 20080183530
Abstract: A mechanism provides a model-driven solution template-based approach for managed business services. Key assets of the business services are templatized and made configurable. The mechanism implements a metamodel describing standard service offerings that can be configured to meet specific business and operational requirements at a level of business process and system components. A cost and pricing model of service offerings helps assess the service costs and resource requirements based on a client's selection of standard and customized processes and system components. A supporting system solution is developed based upon underlying solution templates and solution artifacts as well as client-specific requirements.

  • Publication number: 20080052436
Abstract: A computing and communication architecture utilizes a serial protocol based switched fabric among circuit cards housed in packaging arrangement. In one embodiment, each circuit card connected to the serial protocol based switched fabric in the packaging arrangement is provided with a protocol processor that enables all of the circuit cards to efficiently provide packet-based serial self-clocked communications at line speed. As a result, it is not necessary to arrange the circuit cards in a hierarchical manner in order to address the problems of switch blocking and related traffic congestion issues that would otherwise limit the implementation of the serial protocol based backplane arrangement for housing circuit cards.

  • Publication number: 20040240671
Abstract: When a system detects that a transaction key in the SIM card (18) of a mobile station (36, 38) is non-existent or is no longer valid, the method automatically performs the following steps: generating in the application key server (42) a transaction key; encrypting the transaction key in the application server (42) using a transmission key generated when the SIM card was customized; transmitting the encrypted transition key via the SMS service centre (40) to the mobile station (36, 38); decrypting in the SIM card (18) the encrypted transaction key using the transmission key; and recording the decrypted transaction key in the SIM card storage. Furthermore, the method enables to select among several possible keys one key which corresponds both to a specific application and to a specific service provider.

  • Patent number: 6396939
Abstract: A segmentation method and system for medical images of a structure, including at least one substructure are described herein. Examples of such structure and substructures are a vertebra and its spinal canal or a sacrum with its two foramens. The method consists of first providing a plurality of digital images representing consecutive slices of the structure. The set of images is then divided into groups for which initial substructures center position are estimated. Using this information, the pixels corresponding to each substructure and common to all the images in the group are determined. Iterations are performed between these two last steps until the best candidates are obtained. The method consists then in estimating the substructures center position in each image of the group. After the substructures have been identified in each image, the images are then processed to remove noise in the substructures, in the rest of the structure and outside the structure.
