Publication number: 20130328491Abstract: An illumination apparatus includes a rectifier, a linear regulator, a lighting unit and a temperature sensing control circuit. The rectifier is connected to an AC supply voltage. The regulator is electrically connected to the rectifier and is adaptive to a first voltage. The lighting apparatus and the regulator form a circuit coupled to the AC power supply. The lighting unit has first and second loads having respective first and second lighting components adaptive to the first voltage. The control circuit can effectively sense the temperature of the regulator and thereby determines whether the first and second load are connected in series or in parallel. If the supply voltage is the first voltage, the first and second load is connected in parallel. If the supply voltage is a second voltage greater than the first voltage, the temperature sensing control circuit switches the first and second load to be connected in series.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2013Publication date: December 12, 2013Applicant: POLYTRONICS TECHNOLOGY CORP.Inventors: Tao Hung CHOU, Chun Teng Tseng, Pin Syuan Li

Patent number: 7185297Abstract: A method of diagnosing a circuit layout and a computer system for performing the method. First, a layout arranging rule is defined in a second file, and a circuit layout is defined in a first file. A diagnosing program compares the first file and the second file and checks whether the circuit layout violates the layout arranging rule. In addition, the diagnosing program searches the first file to determine if any groups of power test pads have a total number of power test pads which is less than a safety value, to indicate if any additional power test pads are required for any particular group. The diagnosing program also determines which test pads have an interval less than a safety distance, to indicate if any intervals of the test pads should be amended. The computer system can rapidly and exactly determine any problems in the arrangement of the test pads in the circuit layout, so as to save manpower and time.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2004Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Assignee: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.Inventor: Tao Hung Chen

Patent number: 6800802Abstract: A circuit device for solar energy application includes a solar panel as power supply and a rechargeable cell pack for receiving the power transferred from the solar panel. The circuit device uses a MOSFET as a current blocking device. The Drain and the Source of the MOSFET are conductively connected directly with the solar panel and the cell pack respectively so that the body diode of the MOSFET is forward interposed between the solar panel and the cell pack for prevention of a reverse current when charging is stopped.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2002Date of Patent: October 5, 2004Assignee: Novaest Optitronix Inc.Inventor: Tao-Hung Chou

Patent number: 6791296Abstract: A cell phone charging circuit of a USB interface. The charging circuit is supplied with a DC power of 5V via the USB interface and split into two, one has a first resister R1 connected to an emitter of a PNP transistor Q1 in series, and the other has two serially connected diodes D1 and D2. The diodes D1 and D2 have a negative thermal coefficient. The negative electrode of the diode D1 is connected to the base of the transistor, the collector of the transistor serves as a charging output terminal, such that the emitter voltage VEB of the transistor Q1 is the same as the voltage VD2 of the diode D2. Therefore, the current flowing through the resistor is VD1/R1, and the voltage and current limiting function is obtained. When the temperature of the battery increases for charging, the voltage VD1 is reduced to decrease the output current, such that temperature compensation is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2003Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Golden Bridge Electech Inc.Inventors: Hui-Min Chu, Tao-Hung Liu
