  • Patent number: 6710271
Abstract: A centrifugal operated switch particularly suitable for operating a circuit for starter windings of a motor. A spindle is connected to and rotated by the motor shaft. Swing arms connected to the spindle move upwardly and outwardly in response to rotational speed of the spindle. A plunger is movable in the spindle, and moves together with movement of the swing arms. The plunger is operationally connected to a contactor having one end electrically connected to a first terminal, and a second end alternatively connected to and disconnected from a second terminal. Movement of the plunger causes movement of the contactor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 2002
Date of Patent: March 23, 2004
    Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.
Inventors: Joseph J. Spedale, Ghaffar Kazkaz, Frank Villari, Tao-Ming Wang, Daniel J. Danek

  • Patent number: 6394829
Abstract: A molded electrical interconnect having an electrical conductor embedded therein, a conductive terminal disposed in the cavity, a first end portion of the terminal disposed toward an open end of the cavity and a second end portion thereof coupled to a portion of the electrical conductor protruding into the cavity, the terminal is pivotally supported by a fulcrum near the second end portion thereof so that the first end portion of the terminal is movable in the cavity for alignment with a mating terminal.

  • Patent number: 6361261
Abstract: The fastener includes a post element, a blind aperture pivot assembly with a blind aperture into which the post element is inserted, and a rigid fastening member. The rigid fastening member secures around the post. The inclined rotationally symmetric wall deflects upon insertion into the blind aperture, but then interferes with the walls of the blind aperture to resist withdrawal.
