    Abstract: Nanocrystals, compositions, and methods that aid particle transport in mucus are provided. In some embodiments, the compositions and methods involve making mucus-penetrating particles (MPP) without any polymeric carriers, or with minimal use of polymeric carriers. The compositions and methods may include, in some embodiments, modifying the surface coatings of particles formed of pharmaceutical agents that have a low water solubility. Such methods and compositions can be used to achieve efficient transport of particles of pharmaceutical agents though mucus barriers in the body for a wide spectrum of applications, including drug delivery, imaging, and diagnostic applications. In certain embodiments, a pharmaceutical composition including such particles is well-suited for administration routes involving the particles passing through a mucosal barrier.

    Abstract: A method of analyzing flowback of a downhole system includes generating active flowback data by monitoring an active flowback from a wellbore. Historic flowback data for historic flowback from the wellbore is used to determine a flowback cluster. The flowback cluster is selected based on comparing the active flowback data to the historic flowback data and determining one or more data instances of the historic flowback data that have features that are similar to that of the active flowback data. Based on the flowback cluster, one or more thresholds may be determined in order to generate an alert when the active flowback data exceeds the thresholds.

In example embodiments, a plurality of data symbols are detected based on channel estimation from a plurality of signals received by the plurality of receiving antenna from the plurality of transmitting antennas. The plurality of detected data symbols are adjusted based on a set of constellation points for a modulation mode used by the transmitter and associated with the plurality of signals. The channel estimation is updated based on the plurality of adjusted data symbols.

    Abstract: Described herein are techniques for improving the signal-to-noise ratio of a wireless sensor platform. The device that interrogates a wireless sensor node (an interrogator) may be configured to determine the quantity to be measured by extracting information from multiple echoes produced in response to multiple interrogation pulses or produced due to multi-path propagation. Although different echoes may have been transformed to different extents, the echoes may share unique characteristics that are specific to the wireless sensor node that produced them. Accordingly, the SNR may be improved by keeping only portions of the received signal that exhibit such characteristics. The SNR may be further improved by summing the echoes together. In some embodiments, the echoes may be summed together in a coherent fashion, thereby producing an echo having an amplitude greater than the amplitude of each of the received echoes.
