  • Publication number: 20210317346
Abstract: The invention is directed to hot melt adhesive compositions that can be formulated to include a large percentage of bio-based components. The hot melt adhesive composition includes both liquid bio-based tackifying agent and solid bio-based tackifying agent and can further include bio-based polymers and bio-based plasticizers.

  • Publication number: 20180355130
Abstract: The invention features a thermoplastic film comprising greater than 70% by weight of a styrene block copolymer having an unsaturated mid block, diblock content of no greater than about 10% by weight and a MFR of from about 15 to about 200 ASTM D 1238 (190° C., 2.16-kg). The thermoplastic film can be used to form elastic composites that are useful in disposable articles (e.g. disposable absorbent articles).

  • Publication number: 20180333514
Abstract: The invention features a disposable absorbent article including a top sheet, an elastic hot melt adhesive back sheet, and a positioning adhesive, the top sheet and the elastic hot melt adhesive back sheet, being adhered to each other to form a layered assembly, the positioning adhesive being located on the garment facing surface of the elastic hot melt adhesive back sheet, the elastic hot melt adhesive including from about 30% by weight to about 80% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer and a tackifying agent.

  • Publication number: 20180208809
Abstract: This invention claims hot melt adhesive compositions that can be used to form elastic composites that are useful in disposable absorbent articles. The hot melt adhesive compositions combine several desirable properties including low viscosity, low odor, a desirable retractive profile improved snap back) as demonstrated by low mechanical hysteresis values and acceptable adhesion. These properties make the hot melt adhesives well suited to forming elastic composites. The improved retractive profile further allows for the ability to apply a lower coat weight and still maintain the elastic properties.
