  • Patent number: 11027584
Abstract: A flying vehicle with folding wings that drives well on the ground and flies well in the air; controlled from inside, it changes from automotive to aircraft configuration without the operator needing to get out of the vehicle. The balance point of the vehicle is located midway between the front and back wheels, providing good handling on the road. In the aircraft configuration with wings unfolded, there is a front wing and a back wing. The incidence of the front wing is controllable, enabling the craft to rotate and take off with a center of gravity located well ahead of the rear wheels. The back wing is fitted with foldable vertical stabilizers near its wing tips. In automobile configuration the wings are folded on top of the body; the wings resemble a roof rack with large surfboards on it. Driven wheels provide motive power on the ground; ducted fans provide thrust for air travel. An autopilot system provides stability and navigation aid, particularly in bad weather or poor visibility.

  • Publication number: 20140159658
Abstract: An electric vehicle (EV) charger restart method includes determining a respective restart delay time (Tdel) for each of one or more electric vehicle chargers, each respective restart delay time (Tdel) comprising a respective delay time increment based on a generated random number and a group time interval for reset (Tint) (block 212), and initiating a restart of at least one of the one or more electric vehicle chargers, if an existing time (Tnow) is greater than an established time line start time (TPOK) plus Tdel.

  • Publication number: 20130147199
Abstract: A series of helical Savonius turbine generators for use in the ocean, each turbine generator being an independent system, but all sharing a common mooring/bus-bar cable. An anchor connects one generator to the ocean floor, and a buoyancy device system buoys the turbines so that they can generate power from passing currents. The generators are coreless, and generate electrical or hydraulic power. The turbine blades rotate on bearings that are lubricated with ambient water. A control system separately tracks the power generation level of each turbine, and controls the buoyancy of the buoyancy device system.

  • Patent number: 7396212
Abstract: Twisted leaf shaped ceiling fan blades for low, medium and high speed operation of less than approximately 250 rpm. The novel blades twisted blades can be configured for 52?, 54?, 56?, 60? and 64? diameter fans, and have less blades (3 for example) than conventional flat type bladed fans having 4, 5 blades and have greater air flow and less power draw results than the conventional flat 54 inch fans. Any of the novel twisted blades of 48?, 52?, 54?, 56?, 60? and 64? can be run at reduced speeds, drawing less Watts than conventional fans and still perform better with more air flow and less problems than conventional flat type conventional leaf shaped blades.

  • Patent number: 7047990
Abstract: An improved cane to assist walking, comprising a shaft, a base and an articulated connection allowing the base to pivot relative to the shaft, depending upon the slope of the surface below the base, the connection characterized in that articulation capability decreases as downward loading on the shaft is increased, and articulation capability increases as downward loading on the shaft is decreased. Articulation capacity may have a path of resistance that guides the user into selected patterns of therapeutic motion.

  • Patent number: 5100357
Abstract: A toy airplane is launched; and an air flow deflecting surface is located in spaced relation to a V-shaped, swept-back wing of the airplane to deflect air flow generally upwardly toward the flight path of the airplane to aid in sustaining or balancing its flight. That surface is movable relative to the wing, and may be hand-held beneath the flying wing. In a modification, a separate stabilizer surface may be connected to the wing to dangle, forwardly thereof.
