  • Patent number: 10765306
Abstract: An improved endoscopic device for obtaining 3-dimensional human vision simulated imaging with real dynamic convergence in therapeutic, diagnostic, and other applications. Imaging probes are mounted on a tubular shaft and a simple/sleek slider moves back-and-forth on the shaft, with slider movement optionally modified and redirected to affect imaging probe convergence/divergence. Imaging probe convergence/divergence can be optionally manual for visual target selection, and the probe arms upon which the imaging probes are mounted may also be moved through a combined 180 degree movement range using a manual control. The first and second movement transmitting means respectively adapted to cause slider-initiated convergence, or manual convergence, of the imaging probes each share at least one integrated movement element with the control means adapted for engaging and disengaging the first and second movement transmitting means.

  • Publication number: 20190350622
Abstract: A device for facilitating a total laparoscopic hysterectomy includes a cervical cup adapted to abut the cervicovaginal junction. An electrocautery wire has an uninsulated portion housed in the cervical cup which includes a channel for housing and controlled releasing the uninsulated portion. An introducer is coupled to the electrocautery wire and configured to penetrate the cervicovaginal junction thereby introducing the electrocautery wire into the intra-abdominal cavity. A shaft secures the electrocautery wire and pulling the electrocautery wire causes a controlled release of the uninsulated portion along a predetermined circumferential path around the cervix along the channel. Thus, the vagina is severed from the cervix along the circumference of the cervicovaginal junction.

  • Patent number: 8105233
Abstract: An endoscopic system and method that is adaptable for therapeutic applications as well as sensor operation and is capable of producing 3-dimensional human vision simulated imaging with real dynamic convergence, not virtual convergence. Applications may include use in any space, including but not limited to, intra-abdominal cavities, intra-thoracic cavities, and intra-cranial cavities. Further, two or more diagnostic/sensor probes may be used, with at least two being the same kind to create the 3-dimensional effect, such as but not limited to, camera, ultrasound, and magnetic-resonance imaging. Diagnostic/sensor probes are each mounted to the end of a different arm, with the other ends of the two arms both being attached to the same hinge that allows them to turn freely on the same axis from side-to-side within a 180 degree angle range of movement on the distal end of a main tubular shaft system. Medical, as well as other applications, are contemplated.

  • Patent number: 7666181
Abstract: A multi-purpose minimally invasive instrument having a small diameter elongated rod with a distal end that receives different interchangeable tools for a variety of uses, and also a handle used by an operator to control the interchangeable tool by manipulating the electricity it receives from a generator. The rod enters a cavity through a very small diameter telescopic port, which provides it with added support during its use. Interchangeable tools comprising imaging/surgical/sensing/electromagnet/radiofrequency/laser/heat-generating probes and/or other devices enter the cavity, supported by an introducer removed after tool attachment, one-at-a-time through a regular-size port that is concurrently used by an endoscope/camera. The instrument is adaptable for therapeutic, investigative, and/or other applications, in any space.
