In an implementation, a corpora of text is analyzed to determine which strings in the corpora of text are to be included in a targeted dictionary that is usable for language detection services. The targeted dictionary is populated with strings that are individually associated with a human language. The strings include individual text characters associated with values that correspond to a particular subset of values in a table that associates subsets of values with individual human writing systems.
