  • Patent number: 11947003
Abstract: A method for estimating a range of a moving target includes emitting, from a target, a first ultrasound signal T, wherein the first ultrasound signal T is generated based on a first differential Zadoff-Chu sequence x; receiving, at a receiver, a second ultrasound signal R, which corresponds to the first ultrasound signal T, wherein the second ultrasound signal R includes a second differential Zadoff-Chu sequence y; applying a maximum likelihood estimator to the first ultrasound signal T and the second ultrasound signal R to calculate an initial time of flight estimate taucorr; and calculating an initial range estimate dcorr of the target by multiplying the initial time of flight estimate taucorr with a speed of sound c. A differential Zadoff-Chu sequence is different from a Zadoff-Chu sequence.

  • Patent number: 11207017
Abstract: A method of estimating fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) signals utilizes a plurality of ECG signals measured along the mother's abdomen. The method includes defining an MECG (ECG) dictionary of symbols and projecting the plurality of abdominal ECG signals onto the MECG dictionary to estimate MECG signals within each of the plurality of abdominal ECG signals. The estimated MECG signals are subtracted from the plurality of measured abdominal ECG signals to estimate FECG signals and the plurality of estimated FECG signals are combined to generate a representation of the FECG source signal.

  • Patent number: 10386481
Abstract: A method and system for gesture recognition using angle-of-arrival information. The method includes generating ultrasound waves with a transmitter; receiving the ultrasound waves at a receiver that includes two pairs of sensors that record the ultrasound waves; estimating with a processor, first and second angle-of-arrivals ?x(ti),?y(ti) for the ultrasound waves, where x and y indicate two perpendicular axes that form a plane in which the two pairs of sensors are distributed and the first and second angle-of-arrivals are defined relative to the plane; grouping N estimated first and second angle-of-arrivals ?x(ti),?y(ti) values to form a matrix g that corresponds to the predetermined path; comparing the matrix g with plural gesture templates from a gesture dictionary; identifying a gesture template from the plural gesture templates that corresponds to the predetermined path; and displaying the gesture template associated with the predetermined path.

  • Patent number: 9137082
Abstract: The system and method for joint compensation of power amplifier's distortion provides a linearization scheme for transmitter power amplifiers driven by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals. A pre-compensated over-driven amplifier is employed at the transmitter. The over-driven amplifier's distortions are considered as a sparse phenomenon and compressive sensing (CS) algorithms are employed at the receiver to estimate and compensate for these distortions. A bandwidth efficient data aided scheme which does not require reserving subcarriers specifically for CS measurements is utilized.
