  • Patent number: 4782112
Abstract: The water-repellent silicone water-based emulsion composition of the present invention consists of a mixture of (A) a silicone water-based emulsion composed of water, emulsifying agent, and diorganopolysiloxane having at least 2 silicone-bonded hydroxyl groups in each molecule, (B) a silicone water-based emulsion composed of water, emulsifying agent, and organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in each molecule, and (C) curing catalyst. It is characterized by an excellent storage stability, and by the formation on curing of a rubbery elastomeric coating film which has an excellent alkali resistance, water repellency, water-repellant sealability, and durability of adhesion.

  • Patent number: 4769405
Abstract: An aqueous silicone emulsion coating material has been developed with can be used to form a membrane with a decorative, uneven surface. The decorative surface is durable and waterproof. The coating material consists essentially of aqueous silicone emulsion which gives an elastomer upon removal of the water component, inorganic filler, and short, hydrophilic, organic fibers.

  • Patent number: 4677160
Abstract: According to the present invention, an aqueous silicone emulsion composition is produced as follows. A base emulsion is prepared from prescribed quantities of an essentially straight-chain organopolysiloxane with at least 2 silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups in each molecule, colloidal silica or alkali metal silicate, a curing catalyst, an emulsifier and water. After the pH is adjusted to 9 to 12 and ripened until an elastomer material is formed by the removal of water at room temperature, prescribed quantities of an epoxy-functional silane coupling agent or its partial hydrolysis product or its partial hydrolysis condensation product, a filler and a dispersant are added. The produced aqueous silicone emulsion composition bonds tightly to porous substrates in contact with it during curing and is therefore extremely useful as a coating or sealing material for various porous substrates.

  • Patent number: 4604435
Abstract: What is disclosed are thermosetting epoxy resin compositions containing block siloxane copolymers which are used to induce low internal stress in the cured compositions and to provide coefficients of thermal expansion more closely aligned with the coefficients of thermal expansion of the substrates being molded therewith.

  • Patent number: 4535109
Abstract: Described is a method of producing silicone aqueous emulsion compositions which cure at room temperature by the removal of water to form elastomeric coatings or films with superior surface gloss, good adhesion to substrates, and rustproofness. The method prepares an emulsion of polydiorganosiloxane having at least two hydroxyl groups per molecule, colloidal silica or alkali metal silicate, curing catalyst, emulsifier, and water, the emulsion having a pH of from 9 to 12. After a period of ripening for a period of time, so that an elastomeric material will be formed when water is removed at room temperature, an amino-functional silane or its partial hydrolyzate is added to give the emulsion its improved properties.

  • Patent number: 4492775
Abstract: The flowability of foamable compositions comprising a hydroxyl-containing polyorganosiloxane, a polyorganosiloxane containing silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, a platinum catalyst and a catalyst inhibitor is eliminated by including in the composition a solid filler exhibiting a mean particle size of one micron or less and either (1) organosilicon compound containing at least 0.5% by weight of carboxyl groups or silicon-bonded hydroxyalkyl groups, or (2) a partially esterified polyfunctional alcohol. In addition, the pot life of the composition is increased without adversely affecting the structure of the cured foam or the adhesion of the foam to various substrates.
