  • Patent number: 4590837
Abstract: A saw blade has a series of triangular saw teeth, each tooth having a cutting edge and back edge joined by a tip edge with a cutting angle tapered rearwardly from the front cutting edge. The cutting angles of the cutting edges are progressively reduced from the leading end to the trailing end. Additionally, the teeth may be formed of a combination of laterally projected teeth and straight teeth.

  • Patent number: 4457190
Abstract: An apparatus for profile-forming saw teeth, a carriage to which a saw blade to be toothed is affixed for feeding longitudinally and transversely with respect to a cutter blade. The carriage is horizontally rotatable about a cutting position of a cutter blade as a center of rotation and a tooth angle changing mechanism gradually moves the carriage to a predetermined angle at feed positions according to the timing of the longitudinal and transverse feed mechanism, thereby shaping saw teeth.

  • Patent number: 4299143
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically profile-forming saw teeth wherein the apparatus includes a carriage on which a saw blade to be toothed is securely fixed and an intermittent longitudinal drive is adjustable to set a distance between one saw tooth and an adjacent saw tooth of a template or saw blade used as a pattern which is attached to the carriage. An input shaft of a clutch/brake mechanism is provided to operate a longitudinal feed mechanism by pendular motion whereby longitudinal advancement of the carriage is achieved. Upon determining the desired longitudinal feed, the carriage is stopped and fed transversely toward a cutter by means of a transverse feed cam to cut new saw teeth or to recut teeth on an existing saw blade.
