    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to hold a holding member appropriately in a casing. A rotary electric machine includes a rotor having a drive shaft, a stator provided on an outer periphery of the rotor, a bearing B2 that rotatably supports the drive shaft, a holding member that contains an aluminum alloy member and holds the bearing, and a casing that houses the rotor, the stator, the bearing, and the holding member. The casing is made of a member that does not grow permanently or an aluminum alloy member that is permanently grown when the holding member is fixed to the casing. The holding member is in a state before permanent growth before being fixed in the casing, and the holding member grows permanently to be fixed more firmly to the casing.
