  • Patent number: 10911881
Abstract: A system configured to detect a tap event on a surface of a device only using microphone audio data. For example, instead of using a physical sensor to detect the tap event, the device may detect a tap event in proximity to a microphone based on a power level difference between two or more microphones. When a power ratio exceeds a threshold, the device may detect a tap event and perform an action. For example, the device may output an alarm and use a detected tap event as an input to delay or end the alarm. In some examples, the device may detect a tap event using a plurality of microphones. Additionally or alternatively, the device may distinguish between multiple tap events based on a location of the tap event, enabling the device to perform two separate actions depending on the location.

  • Patent number: 10911362
Abstract: The systems and methods discussed herein provide for classifying CDN connections to the originating application on the first packet. In some implementations, the system identifies application connections established within a predetermined time period prior to the CDN connection and increments a value associated with these connections. The system classifies the CDN connection as corresponding to the application connection with the highest associated value, allowing routing of network traffic to take advantage of QoS benefits and reduce the need for deep packet inspection.

  • Publication number: 20210026560
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for memory device mode selection in a serial memory device are presented. Memory device configuration information may be retrieved in response to a memory device initialization condition, and a configuration register bit mask that is included in the memory device configuration information may then be written to a configuration register of the memory device. A write command that may also be included in the memory device configuration information may be used to write the configuration bit mask to the configuration register. The serial memory device may be a serial flash memory. The configuration register bit mask may include an I/O mode bit setting that indicates enabling the memory to operate in a quad-bit I/O mode or other multi-bit serial I/O mode instead of a single-bit serial I/O mode.

  • Publication number: 20200396495
Abstract: An intelligent return path data (iRPD) system enables transmission of return path data via a communication network for a television connected to a non-hybrid set top box (STB). The iRPD system is configured to receive the key codes of the keys pressed on a remote control device along with the date time stamps and the location information. The iRPD system analyzes the keypress data along with the date time stamps to recognize the channels accessed in programming operations and the non-programming control operations executed by a viewer operating the remote control device. The viewer's behavior pattern is thus recorded and analyzed to identify the viewer. Upon identifying the viewer, various functions such as collecting the viewership statistics, implementing metered usage billing or ecommerce activities are enabled.
