  • Publication number: 20110313060
Abstract: A non-aqueous silicone emulsion is provided. It comprises a continuous phase of a polar organic liquid containing droplets of an organopolysiloxane dispersed therein. An organic wax, which has a melting point in the range 40 to 100° C. and is sparingly soluble in the polar organic liquid at 25° C., is dispersed in the polar organic liquid continuous phase as a network of interconnected particles which stabilises the organopolysiloxane droplets in emulsion in the polar organic liquid. A process for the production of the emulsion is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110300094
Abstract: A silicone oil-in-water emulsion comprising 3 to 90% by volume of a silicone oil phase, characterized in that the emulsion is stabilized by a protein and/or peptide present at 0.25 to 20% by weight of the emulsion. The emulsion contains less than 25% by weight and preferably zero % by weight of non-polymeric amphiphilic surfactant based on the weight of protein or peptide. A process for preparing the emulsion is also described.
