  • Publication number: 20090308811
Abstract: A chromatography device and method of use to separate components of a sample are described. The device includes a stationary phase supported by a frame or contained within a chamber in a housing. The stationary phase includes a nano alumina medium that has support fibers having nano alumina fibers attached thereto. Optionally, sorbents are electrostatically adhered to the nano alumina fibers. Chromatographic separations are effected by the mobile phase at pressures of less than 10 bar and at flow velocities up to at least 5 cm/min. An electrical potential can be applied across the medium to foster separation of components.
