  • Patent number: 10589751
Abstract: Systems and methods of operating an autonomous vehicle to perform an autonomous maneuver. One system includes a human machine interface and an electronic controller electrically coupled to the human machine interface. The electronic controller includes an electronic processor configured to detect at least one driving condition and determine the autonomous maneuver based on the at least one driving condition. The electronic processor is also configured to display, via the human machine interface, a maneuver notification before performing the autonomous maneuver. The electronic processor is further configured to control the autonomous vehicle to perform the autonomous maneuver.

  • Patent number: 10449957
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling an autonomous vehicle. One method includes receiving, with an electronic processor of the autonomous vehicle, a profile selection. The method further includes receiving, with the electronic processor, a driver profile including a plurality of settings based on the profile selection. The method further includes, when the autonomous vehicle is operating in an autonomous driving mode, controlling, with the electronic processor, at least one vehicle control system of the autonomous vehicle based on at least one of the plurality of settings. The method further includes operating, with the electronic processor, the autonomous vehicle in a manual driving mode. The method further includes receiving, with the electronic processor, data from at least one sensor while the autonomous vehicle operates in the manual driving mode.

  • Publication number: 20180017969
Abstract: Systems and methods of controlling an autonomous driving mode in an autonomous vehicle. The system includes a first selection point (130), a second selection point (135), and an electronic controller. The first selection (130) and the second selection point (135) are disposed on a steering wheel (200) of the autonomous vehicle. The first selection point (130) includes a first button. The second selection point (135) includes a second button. The electronic controller is electrically coupled to the first selection point (130) and the second selection point (135). The electronic controller is configured to detect when the first button is selected and when the second button is selected. The electronic controller is also configured to activate the autonomous driving mode when both the first button and the second button are selected for more than a first predetermined amount of time.

  • Publication number: 20170371333
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling multiple autonomous vehicles. One exemplary system includes a server including an electronic processor configured to receive, from a source device, a connected mode trip request including a first starting point, a destination, a first departure time, and a participant request. The electronic processor is further configured to receive a second starting point and to determine a first route including a destination arrival time. The electronic processor is further configured to determine a second route and a second departure time based on the second route and the destination arrival time. The electronic processor is further configured to send, to a recipient device, an invitation, including the second route and the second departure time. The electronic processor is further configured to receive, from the recipient device, a response to the invitation and send a notification based on the response to the source device.
