Patent number: 5640682Abstract: A radio tele-communication apparatus of this invention is arranged as follows. A receiving circuit receives a signal including transmission information transmitted from a base station and outputs a demodulated signal. A determining circuit determines whether or not self-addressed transmission information is included in the demodulated signal output from the receiving circuit. If the determining circuit determines that the self-addressed transmission information is included in the demodulated signal, a detecting circuit compares the currently received transmission information with previously received transmission information to detect a change amount therebetween. If the change amount is larger than a predetermined amount, an informing circuit informs reception of the self-addressed transmission information. The informing circuit also contains various informing states which can be adjustably set by the user.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1993Date of Patent: June 17, 1997Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kiyoshi Wagai, Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Mitsuji Shiono

Patent number: 5448228Abstract: A paging apparatus with a time information generating circuit comprises a combination switch having multiple switch positions in different operation directions, so that a time setting mode is set when a predetermined first operation is performed by the combination switch, and a paging mode is set other operations are performed. When a predetermined second operation is performed with the time setting mode set, time information measured by the time information generating circuit is replaced with time information input by the second operation. Even in the time setting mode, it is checked if a call is made to the apparatus. When there is such a call, a user is informed of this event without ignoring the occurrence of the call.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1993Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kiyoshi Wagai, Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Mitsuji Shiono, Haruhiko Sato

Patent number: 5285493Abstract: A tele-communication device includes a memory for storing a plurality of pieces of messages transmitted over a communication channel and a display device for displaying the message information read from the memory in response to an operation of a display switch. The pieces of message information are automatically read from the memory in sequence at regular intervals and displayed on the display device while the display switch is depressed continuously. When the display time of a message exceeds a given time, the message is automatically erased from the display. When the display switch is depressed within a given time from when the message is erased automatically, the erased message is displayed again.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1991Date of Patent: February 8, 1994Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kiyoshi Wagai, Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Shinya Sato, Mitsuji Shiono, Haruhiko Sato

Patent number: 5187471Abstract: A method and apparatus of this invention changes a frequency at which a control circuit (signal processing circuit) operates in accordance with an operational load of a circuit. More specifically, a pager comprises a signal processing circuit for detecting a first signal sequence within received signals by comparing the received signals with codes originated in the pager and for identifying a second signal sequence received in association with the first signal sequence within the received signals, the signal processing circuit being supplied with a first clock signal having a first frequency when the signal processing circuit detects the first signal sequence and being supplied with a second clock signal having a second frequency when the signal processing circuit identifies the second signal sequence. Still, the frequency applied to the signal processing circuit may be changed in accordance with the operational load of the circuit.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1991Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kiyoshi Wagai, Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Shihoko Ohyanagi, Mitsuji Shiono

Patent number: 5177478Abstract: A paging apparatus comprises a control device for controlling all other components of the apparatus. The control device can have a memory for storing the ID number of the paging apparatus. There is shown methods and devices for storing the ID number in the memory or an ID memory device. These methods can be classified into two types. One type is write, into the memory of the control device or into the ID memory device, the ID number which the apparatus detects after a specific code and which has been broadcast from a base station, along with the specific code. The other type is to write the ID number into the memory of the control device or into the ID memory device when the input terminal provided the paging apparatus is connected to an external ID number writer. In either type of method, the paging apparatus generates an alarm upon completion of writing the ID number into the memory of the control device or into the ID memory device, thereby informing the user of this fact.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1992Date of Patent: January 5, 1993Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kiyoshi Wagai, Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Shihoko Ohyanagi, Mitsuji Shiono

Patent number: 4796024Abstract: A selective calling receiver with automatic memory storage and turn-on indication is disclosed. When the receiver is placed in the called state by an incoming signal, audible and/or visual indicator signals actuated by the incoming signal are automatically stopped after a predetermined period of time has elapsed and record of the called state is simultaneously kept in a memory integral to the receiver. Indication of the called state is regenerable at a later time by a switching operation. Indication of the called state is stoppable without recording such indication in memory when a manual reset operation is performed before indication of the called state is automatically stopped.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1986Date of Patent: January 3, 1989Assignee: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (et al.)Inventors: Kazushige Sakoh, Hiroshi Arakawa, Hiroyuki Yamaguchi, Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Toshiyasu Takasugi, Shinjiro Umetsu, Takehiko Tsutsumi

Patent number: 4606050Abstract: What is disclosed is a system for recovering encoded data from a transmitted signal. A clock regenerating circuit regenerates a clock signal from the data bits encoded in the signal. The regenerated clock signal is used to synchronize an up/down with each individual data bit. When a data bit is at a logic "H", the counter counts from a predetermined value in an upward direction and when the data bit is at a logic "L", the counter counts in a downward direction from a predetermined value. The count after each bit-time is used to provide a signal representative of the logic state of that data bit. Accordingly, a reproduced data signal can be accurately obtained.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1983Date of Patent: August 12, 1986Assignee: Tokyo Shibaura Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Akio Gotoh, Syuitsu Tsutsumi, Kuniyoshi Marui, Naoto Honda

Patent number: 4509201Abstract: Two limit voltages are established for a wireless telephone apparatus. If the power supply voltage exceeds the first limit voltage, the transmitter of the wireless telephone apparatus is prevented from radiating signals. At the same time, the central processing unit of the wireless telephone apparatus shelters, in a dedicated shelter register, the control data necessary to carry on communication once power is restored, and an inhibit circuit prevents the central processing unit from writing into the read-write memory. If the power supply voltage exceeds the second limit voltage, the central processing unit is disabled from exercising control of the apparatus. When the power supply voltage returns within the second limit voltage, the central processing unit is enabled to exercise control over the apparatus. When the power supply voltage returns within the first limit voltage, the transmitter is enabled to radiate signals and the central processing unit reestablishes communication using the sheltered data.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1983Date of Patent: April 2, 1985Assignee: Toshiba CorporationInventors: Tatsuaki Sekigawa, Akio Gotoh, Syuitsu Tsutsumi, Kuniyoshi Marui, Naoto Honda
