  • Publication number: 20030103835
Abstract: A pod cover removing-installing apparatus can open and close any covers for a variety of pods made by a various manufactures, can satisfy an allowable distortion error capable of being normally operated even if conditions such as temperature, humidity, and can remove and install the cover without causing it to collide with any one of the parts of the pods. The pod cover removing-installing apparatus to remove and install a cover 203 for an opening 202 of a pod 200, of which the inside is kept extremely clean, by causing the cover to engage a door 13 for an opening 12 of a high cleanliness room, while maintaining high cleanliness of the pod and the room by closely attaching the circumference of the two openings. The apparatus is provided with positioning pins 14a, 14b for positioning the cover 13, a fine adjustment mechanism 20 for fine adjustment of the positioning pins 14a, 14b, and a holding mechanism 40 for holding the position of the cover 13 engaging the positioning pins 14a, 14b.

  • Patent number: 6007753
Abstract: In the end portion of a weather strip, the projecting base end portion of a hollow seal portion is left as a first uncut-off portion, whereas the main portion of the hollow seal portion is cut off. The thus treated end portion is set in a split mold. In this setting, a cooling mold is brought into contact with a decorative high molecular layer. Also, the first uncut-off portion is pushed down in a direction away from the decorative high molecular layer is thereby pressed against the outer surface of the side wall of a trim portion. Also, a first middle mold is disposed opposed to the outer surface of the side wall to thereby form a cavity, while the cavity and decorative high molecular layer are separated from each other through the first uncut-off portion. Molding material is injected into the cavity to thereby form a mold forming portion.

  • Patent number: 5972268
Abstract: A method of forming a molded seal portion onto a corner part of a weather strip without generating any molding defect due to variations in the injection amount, injection pressure or the like of the molding material. A seal portion projecting from one side wall of a trim portion is partly cut off, the remaining trim portion is bent to a corner configuration and placed in a mold, and a molding material for the seal portion is injected into a cavity of the mold from the position corresponding to a longitudinally extending base end edge of the molded seal portion such that the molding material flows from the side of the longitudinally extending base end edge of the molded seal portion towards a distal end edge thereof to fill the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5711907
Abstract: A method for producing a weather strip having a molded end portion joined to an end of an extruded weather strip having a base portion and a tubular seal portion. The method includes the steps of cutting-off a portion of the tubular seal portion from the end of the extruded weather strip with the base portion thereof remaining uncut, placing the uncut base portion of the end of the extruded weather strip in a cavity of a mold, placing a core along the uncut base portion, injecting a molding material into the cavity to mold a tubular part having a configuration conforming to the cut off tubular seal portion integrally with a fin-like end part extending from the tubular part, opening the mold, and removing the core from the tubular part along a reverse face of the fin-like end part.

  • Patent number: 5250241
Abstract: A method and a device for forming a molded portion at an end of an extruded weather strip. The method includes the steps of placing the end of the extruded weather strip made of foamed elastic material in a cavity defined by a movable upper mold member and a fixed lower mold member which composes a mold, closing the mold with the end of the extruded weather strip clamped by a predetermined clamping force, injecting a foamable molding material into the cavity, moving the upper mold member up by an force not more than the clamping amount in the process of foaming of the foamable molding material to reduce clamping of the upper mold member and to enlarge the cavity, continuing molding with the upper mold member moved up until the foamable molding material fills the enlarged cavity, and opening the mold when molding of the molded portion is completed.
