The laser ablative recording material of the invention is characterized by a small Dmin and a high removing efficiency of the image forming dyes.

If n.sub.1 is 2, two X.sub.1 can either be identical or different. On the other hand, n.sub.2 is either 1 or 2. If n.sub.2 is 2, two X.sub.3, two X.sub.4, and two x.sub.5 are either identical or different.
