  • Patent number: 4198664
Abstract: A nonrecorded section detection switch is provided through which a power supply voltage is applied to an amplifier associated with a reproduction head at a desired time. A switching transistor is connected to receive the output signal of the amplifier and turns ON only when the amplifier develops the signal. A charge/discharge loop is formed through the base and the emitter of the switching transistor, and a level detector is provided to control a tape feed mechanism in accordance with a charge level of the charge/discharge loop.

  • Patent number: 4014039
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to tape decks having a detection system responsive to a silence between recorded programs. A key board panel is provided for inputting a desired number to a down counter in order to position a head of a program after skipping a desired number of programs recorded on the tape at the fast movement speed. The count of the down counter is decremented once for every occurence of a detection signal from the detection system representative of the silence between recorded passages. The tape drive is stopped or returned to its normal playback speed when the contents of the down counter become zero.

  • Patent number: 3984869
Abstract: An automatic program advance switch is provided for advancing or skipping a recorded passage which is about to be played and going on to the next passage. The tape is driven at a fast speed and a reproduction signal from a playback head is muted with the use of a squelch circuit upon depession of the automatic program advance switch. The tape drive is returned to its normal operating speed when a silence between recorded passages on the tape is detected during the fast movement of the tape. The tape speed control is achieved by varying the revolution velocity of a motor for driving the tape.
