  • Patent number: 7972721
Abstract: A heat insulation sheet (16) covers a temperature fuse (10) arranged on a sealing plate (23) of a rechargeable battery (2) so as to provide a shield from heat of resin that is filled in a gap between the rechargeable battery (2) and a circuit substrate (3) to form a primary mold (11) and to prevent destruction of the temperature fuse (10) caused by the heat.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 6, 2003
Date of Patent: July 5, 2011
    Assignee: Panasonic Corporation
Inventors: Katsumi Kozu, Takeshi Ishimaru, Yoshiki Osawa, Satoshi Kataoka, Iichiro Mori, Koichi Toriyama, Masahiro Mizuta, Tatsuhisa Chikada
  • Patent number: 7927386
Abstract: A rechargeable battery (2) and a circuit substrate (3) are connected by lead plates (4, 5) and united by a primary mold (11) that is formed by filling resin therebetween, after which a secondary mold (12) is formed on the outer face by filling resin at necessary locations and a winding sheet (13) is wound around the periphery, thereby forming a battery pack.

  • Patent number: 6884540
Abstract: A plurality of secondary batteries are connected either one of in series or in parallel with metal plates, and are joined by connection plates to form a unit with spacing provided between the secondary batteries disposed in parallel. Also, when arranging an odd number of the secondary batteries, an arrangement is also possible where a connection plate at an end point of an even number of the secondary batteries is joined to the remaining battery so that the secondary batteries can be arranged in a different shape. The spacing improves the heat radiation capability of the secondary batteries, and a pressing force is prevented from being applied to the secondary batteries by forming supporting struts in the spacing.

  • Patent number: 6667129
Abstract: A battery pack is fabricated as follows. A pack case, made from a resin sheet by vacuum molding, is formed of an upper case and a lower case coupled to each other via a hinge. Inside the lower case is housed a battery block composed of a rechargeable battery and circuit substrates formed integrally together. The pack case is folded in two on the hinge whereby the upper case covers the battery block. The side surfaces thereof are sealed with sealing tapes.
