  • Patent number: 6070023
Abstract: When a surface sheet manufacture mode is selected, a CPU calculates a size of a back sheet portion of a surface sheet, on the basis of a sheet thickness detected by a sheet thickness detect portion, a consumed toner amount calculated by an estimate circuit and the number of transfer materials counted. After the predetermined number of imaged transfer materials are outputted, a transfer material having a size accommodating with the calculated size of the back sheet portion, whereby information for determining the size of back sheet portion of the surface sheet can be inputted correctly.

  • Patent number: 6031631
Abstract: One of a plurality of image processing apparatus connected to an image processing system freely sets image forming conditions, such as recording paper size and enlargement/reduction magnification ratio, with regard to some or all of the other image processing apparatus, subsequently reads the image of an original by means of a reader, outputs image data indicative of the image read and transmits this image data to the other image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus that has read the image of the original and the image processing apparatus that has received the image data output copies of the image of the original on the basis of the image forming conditions that have been set. Accordingly, it is possible to provide an image processing method and system in which a plurality of image processing apparatus are connected and identical images are outputted simultaneously from each of the apparatus connected.

  • Patent number: 5940114
Abstract: An image forming method includes the steps of compressing input image data and coding the input image data in block units, each block unit corresponding to a plurality of pixels. The method also includes storing the image data coded in the coding step in block units in a storing means, forming an image according to image data from the storing step, and correcting positional deviations of the image formed in the image forming step in units smaller than the block units.

  • Patent number: 5576753
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a device for forming an image; a device for detecting information relating to the image formed by the image forming device and for repeating the detection; and a device for determining a timing at which the detection is repeated by the detecting device on the basis of the information detected by the detecting device. A device for generating a pattern signal corresponding to a predetermined pattern for detecting the amount of registration deviation by the detecting device is also provided. In addition, a transport belt for transporting the recording medium through the plurality of image forming units is provided so that the image forming units also form predetermined images on the transport belt. A device is also provided for mechanically and/or electrically correcting registration in the image forming units on the basis of the amount of registration deviation detected by the detecting device.

  • Patent number: 5508825
Abstract: An image processing device for processing an image formed by a lens on a sensor through an automatic focusing device is arranged to move the lens, in cases where no adequate image is formable on the sensor, to a position determined on the basis of a plurality of lens positions previously obtained with the image formed under the control of the automatic focusing device.

  • Patent number: 5452073
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes plural imaging stations each having an image forming unit positioned around a photosensitive drum, a transfer belt for transporting a recording sheet, a pattern forming unit for causing the image forming unit of each imaging station to form registration correcting marks of plural sets on the transfer belt at predetermined timings, a reader unit for reading the registration correcting marks formed on the transfer belt, a calculation unit for applying a predetermined calculation to the data read from the registration correcting marks on the transfer belt, a memory for storing the result of calculation for respective colors, and a correcting unit for mechanically or electrically correcting the registrations of the imaging stations by analysis of the data stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 5355232
Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus in which image data is divided into blocks each containing a plurality of pixels and is coded and decoded on the basis of such blocks. When the image data is enlarged or reduced, enlargement is conducted before the coding and decoding, while reduction is performed after coding and decoding, whereby quantization errors caused by the coding and decoding is minimized.
