  • Publication number: 20070035651
Abstract: A recording device that includes: a main image data acquisition section acquiring main image data in real time; a sub image data generation section generating sub image data, which can be recorded on a recording medium together with the main image data based on a predetermined rule using a predetermined format, and is the image data defined to be displayable through overlay on a display image as a reproduction result of the main image data; an associated information acquisition section acquiring associated information of predetermined contents when the main image data is acquired; a sub image data generation control section exercising control over the sub image data generation section to generate the sub image data by which the contents of the associated information are displayed in a predetermined layout; and a recording section recording on the recording medium, in accordance with the format, the main image data and the sub image data.

  • Publication number: 20060251409
Abstract: An imaging apparatus for recording an imaging result on a recording medium includes an imaging device operable to obtain an imaging result; an optical system operable to form an optical image on an imaging plane of the imaging device; a first motion detector operable to detect a movement of the imaging apparatus and to output a detection result; and a recorder operable to record the imaging result, together with the detection result, on the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20060244867
Abstract: The total imaging time period and recorded volume of each image is displayed in association with the imaging date and time of the image. An imaging information acquiring section acquires information on the imaging dates and times and recorded volumes of images. The acquired information is held in an index table. A period setting part sets the period of a period display. An imaging start position deciding section decides the position corresponding to the imaging start date and time of each image in the period display. An imaging time length deciding section decides the display range of the imaging time length of each image in the period display. A recorded volume length deciding section decides the display range of the recorded volume length of each image.

  • Publication number: 20060228047
Abstract: An image processing apparatus and method is disclosed wherein a plurality of images having different aspect ratios can be displayed with minimized distortion on the same display screen. An image processing apparatus records a thumbnail image with an aspect ratio of 4:3. When a thumbnail image whose aspect ratio is corrected from 16:9 to 4:3 is to be displayed on a display screen whose aspect ratio is 4:3, the thumbnail image is reduced so as to have a heightwise dimension reduced to ¾. On the other hand, when a thumbnail image whose aspect ratio remains 4:3 and is not corrected is to be displayed on a display screen whose aspect ratio is 16:9, the thumbnail image is reduced so as to have a widthwise dimension reduced to ¾. The present invention can be applied to a digital video camera.

  • Publication number: 20060182436
Abstract: An image recording/playback control apparatus includes a moving image capturing section capturing a moving image and generating moving image data; a still image capturing section capturing a still image and generating still image data; a still image information generation section generating still image information in which the moving image data and the still image data are associated with each other by an image-capturing time; moving and still image coding sections coding the moving and still image data, respectively; a recording section recording the coded moving and still image data; a separation section separating the coded moving and still image data; moving and still image decoding sections decoding the coded moving and still image data, respectively; a still image information indication section indicating the moving or still image data; a selection section selecting the moving and still image data; and a display control displaying the moving or still image data.

  • Patent number: 6529452
Abstract: A recording/reproducing device and a recording/reproducing method for recording a program reproduced from a first recording medium onto a second recording medium having at least two recording regions and onto a third recording medium in synchronism. The recording region may be changed over on the second recording medium. In this case, after the change-over of the recording region of the second recording medium has been completed, the head of the program reproduced from the first recording medium when the change-over of the recording region occurred is recorded onto the second recording medium and into the third recording medium, and the program that was incompletely recorded into the third recording medium is erased after the recording. Therefore, the program that had been recorded during the change-over of the recording region of the second recording medium is completely recorded, and the program is further completely recorded into the third recording medium.

  • Patent number: 6388965
Abstract: In a dubbing apparatus capable of prohibiting next high-speed dubbing of a piece of data once completing high-speed dubbing for a predetermined period of time in a process of high-speed dubbing from a first recording medium to a second recording medium, such a piece of data cannot be dubbed at a high speed but can be dubbed at an ordinary speed during the predetermined period of time in response to a request for re-dubbing of the piece of data at the high speed. It is thus possible to achieve an object of the dubbing apparatus to protect a copyright for prohibiting an operation to copy data to a plurality of recording mediums at one time. When the user issues a command to again carry out high-speed dubbing of pieces of data, high-speed dubbing of pieces of data once subjected to high-speed dubbing during the predetermined period of time is deferred.
